Yes we will be calling to verify but I cant call because it is too expensive and my wife will not be able to call until Monday now as she is tied up with work. I was only really looking for some short term reassurance or advice so this doesn't spoil my weekend.

Thanks

Why is it expensive to call? There are many free options. I never paid one cent to call NVC from Canada using my computer.

And your wife works until midnight? Because that's when NVC is open until...

Ah ok. I did not realise their lines were open that late. I will let my wife know. Thanks for the info.

Do you personally think we will be ok though? They must have people make mistakes from time to time. I guess that is why they let you go back in and edit.

I have just logged in and viewed our "completed" DS261 and the one showing is the 2nd corrected one that my wife submitted so I guess that's a good thing.

It's on the first post what NVC's hours are.

I obviously don't know exactly how it works as I don't work at NVC, but I'd think they'd get a notification when a DS-261 is completed. Once they go into the system to view the DS-261, I'd think they'd only be able to see the latest submitted version.

And you would be right in thinking that. My wife just called and they said exactly that.

Consider the case closed! Thanks for your help.

Hi Jilly! I just got the same letter you did about the 129f being forwarded to the embassy. Have you recieved anything else? Has your hubby heard anything from his embassy? I'm a bit confused on what to do. It seems easier to go with the 130 as far as paperwork and so forth. I mean we've waited this long already. What's another month to have everything done. I don't really see it happening that much faster. What are your thoughts?

letters suck, IMO, for I-129F tracking, if'n yer chasing a K-3 visa.

What doesn't suck, OTOH, is to use a telephone:

1. call into NVC and get the consular casefile # for the K-3 visa application and

2. call into DoS Hotline, inquiring for status on the casefile, giving over the Consular Casefile # you got in step 1.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Finally I can see both AOS & IV invoiced. Trying to contact my attorney to make the payments.dancin5hr.gif

BTW, My spouse's middle name has an error. One letter is missing. I think this should be OK but I 'm trying to get NVC to correct the error.

Hope this will not delay the process. shocked.gif

Saylin,

I called NVC and they said this will not have any impact on my case and my spouse can correct the name when she go to the interview. What is your opinion?

She has two middle names on her name and there is one character is missing on the second part.

Timeline
F2A Category: Fiscal Year 2014 Movement
The AILA Department of State Liaison Committee has been informed by the State Department that due to the demand of F2A visas by Mexican nationals, the Mexico F2A visa preference category is expected to retrogress in the spring of FY2014.

If the return rate for this visa category decreases, the retrogression may come sooner than spring of FY2014. There is a 50% return rate worldwide for F2A visas which may be due to the fact that some applicants will convert to Immediate Relative visas in order to take advantage of the Provisional Waiver Program or some marriages may terminate before the visa is available.

You might get affected by this, since, according to your timeline, you have no NVC intake completed yet.

Anyone in that visa category will suffer at NVC when the retrogression switch is turned on. So, if you can be proactive and get yer stuff done/in with a case complete and interview date set, prior to the retrogression switch being turned on?

Yer golden.

The thing that sucks, IMO, is that you could suffer from the retrogression EVEN with the case complete timetick. You are not 'free and clear' of the retrogression until the appointment has been set by NVC.

What are yer plans for superfast NVC doc intake?

Yes, it'd be a good idea to include.

No, you don't need two joint sponsors. I was replying to someone else who had that specific situation. If you have a joint sponsor that earns enough for that household size, then you don't need another.

Yes, call them up ASAP and give over all the email addresses.

You only pay one fee if the cases are joined together at NVC.

The police certificate is sent to NVC, not USCIS. I'd be careful with your lawyer...

It's suggested to wait until the payment shows as PAID in the payment portal (in case something goes wrong). But, if you don't want to wait that long, at least wait until the money clears your bank account. If they receive it before it's successfully cleared, it can cause delays.

It has to be sent in the IV package. If it's not included, you'll receive a checklist.

Thanks Saylin! You're a life saver! :)

For those worrying about call costs to NVC, you can download the MagicJack app on your smartphone (it's free) and you'll be able to call any number in the US or Canada without paying a dime. Just make sure you have a stable internet connection to keep from getting your calls cut especially during long hold times.

just want to clarify about AOS fee

husband filed for me (wife and 2 minors), does he have to pay 3 $88?

how do we know if this 3 cases are "joined" nvc?

when logging in to the nvc payment portal

if'n he sees 3 fees for AOS,

then

the casefiles are not properly joined up, yet, at NVC. I suggest:

1. delay paying the AOS fee until they are joined up and

2. call NVC, get a supervisor, ask said supervisor to join up the casefiles.

I'd suggest writing it correctly on all forms at NVC and once at the interview, bring it up and make sure it's right in their systems.
