Thanks so much for your reply. I will call our lawyer to inform him about this. And he was also asking my (beneficiary) police record to give to USCIS. But we are out of USCIS already, our papers are on the way to NVC. Why is he asking me to send it to him. God bless us all. Have a good day/evening. smile.png

He probably meant NVC. Police records must be submitted to NVC. :)

Just a cautionary note: I filled out my I-864, printed it....got it ready to send, thought I ought to check it again...and of course, I found a mistake.

Fixed that...printed it out again....and found ANOTHER thing I'd filled out wrong. Like my dad used to say, "Measure twice cut once," meaning check your form and double- and triple-check it before you send it in. At this stage of the game we want no more delays! biggrin.png

I just paid my AOS today. When should I email them my packet? I opted into Ep so I will not snail mail. It's all ready to go should I do it now or wait until AOS is withdrawn from my account?

Good question, my AOS bill should be ready soon, was wondering about this as well.

i just found the answer.

Members have had luck sending the packages as soon as they pay the bills (since the bar-coded cover sheet becomes available after paying). If you're not going to wait for it to appear as PAID in the portal, at least wait until the money has cleared the bank account.

Question. Should we send the Police Certificate with IV package or take it to the embassy on interview day, which method is correct. Does the NVC going to request it if not sent with the IV package?

Send the original one with IV package and make a copy for embassy just incase they ask.

Uhh question: I am adopted, so do I need to copy my adoption papers with my fathers name on them? ( I Mean I still have his last name I havent changed it yet). Fathers also sponsoring for me.

Yes, it'd be a good idea to include.

Hi... I am kinda in the same situation I stopped working from 2012 to finish nursing school and just graduted planning to start working asap. I was going to have my dad joint sponser but do I need also other sponser other than my father? Just want to make sure I am doimg things correctly thanks!!!

No, you don't need two joint sponsors. I was replying to someone else who had that specific situation. If you have a joint sponsor that earns enough for that household size, then you don't need another.

Hi Saylin! smile.png

We just received an email containing the Case numbers for me and my daughter along with the IIN and Beneficiary ID numbers. Do we call NVC now and give them my email and my husband's email? My husband is the petitioner and will also be assigned as our choice of agent. Also, on the AOS fee, do we need to pay just one AOS fee or one for me and my daughter? I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!

Yes, call them up ASAP and give over all the email addresses.

You only pay one fee if the cases are joined together at NVC.

Thanks so much for your reply. I will call our lawyer to inform him about this. And he was also asking my (beneficiary) police record to give to USCIS. But we are out of USCIS already, our papers are on the way to NVC. Why is he asking me to send it to him. God bless us all. Have a good day/evening. smile.png

The police certificate is sent to NVC, not USCIS. I'd be careful with your lawyer...

I just paid my AOS today. When should I email them my packet? I opted into Ep so I will not snail mail. It's all ready to go should I do it now or wait until AOS is withdrawn from my account?

It's suggested to wait until the payment shows as PAID in the payment portal (in case something goes wrong). But, if you don't want to wait that long, at least wait until the money clears your bank account. If they receive it before it's successfully cleared, it can cause delays.

It has to be sent in the IV package. If it's not included, you'll receive a checklist.

still no case number yet but today when i called NVC, he said the case is getting processed,

Some thing different then all the other reps (normally all the reps say it has not been put in our system yet)

is it something to get excited about??

It should be available soon. I think the rep was just being nice that's all.

My approved I130 from NSC has been shipped to Dept of State for visa processing today (2 days after approval). How long does it take for NVC to receive the case?

If it was shipped today, I guess allow a week for them to enter it into their system. Then you will have to wait for case number.

Questions:

1. can anyone (ex. My friend or uncle) translate my Dutch Police report / certificate and just certify it? Or does it have to be from those websites like rev.com?

2. Does the whole document need to be translated? Or just the body/content? My dutch certificate has an english translation printed at the bottom of the paper, but it only translated the content/result of the report, and not the whole document.

Any input will be appreciated. Thank :)

1. I would think anyone could translate, as long as they're competent. Make sure you check NVC's requirements on what's needed: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html (3rd paragraph)

2. Not sure about this. I'd suggest it'd be better to be safe than sorry, so get the whole document translated. You can call up NVC to confirm.
