Also just to note: Sometimes the best information is found in your own regional forum. Each country does things differently so Saylin and the rest of us have learned those differences but I bet there are veterans from each region that can help you out as well if it's country specific. ;) Best of luck to everyone!

As long as you give over both email addresses to an operator at NVC, you'll receive all correspondence (including the interview letter) by email. Not sure where you read about not relying on receiving the interview letter as that's not true...

I think I remember reading a couple of times in the UK regional forum that people have missed their interviews entirely because they weren't receiving their letters in a timely fashion, or at all. I read a lot here so I might have imagined it >.<

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Was it maybe for K1 applicants? They actually receive the interview letters directly from the embassy and by snail mail, so that may have been the cause of not receiving letters. But for IR-1/CR-1 applicants, the interview is scheduled by NVC and as long as email addresses were given over, then the interview letter is sent by email.

I went to Robinsons cyber gate. Security guard told me it's temporarily closed. He advised me to go to Capitol nbi main office. Before getting NBI we need to ask for an appointment first. They will schedule us. This is just so frustrating! Ugh.

I'm gonna go to Capitol NBI Main Office on Monday and ask for an appointment hopefully they won't schedule me on March because it's gonna be frustrating.I will let you know next week. .

H,i Everyone,

I have two questions that i hope the forum can answer. First, concerning the proof of income, how important is the letter of employment ? I've worked for the same employer for 7 years and am including 3 years w2s, 3 years tax returns and 6 months pay stubs. My employer wrote a letter but really screwed it up (he knew best) and would rather not send it if not needed.

The second question concerns the IV package required documents. Are all these beneficiary documents or is the petitioner required to send their birth certificate, divorce decrees, etc. ?

Thanks. ,

Yes, K-1 applicants. I only realised recently that interviews are assigned differently to K-1s than CR-1s :D but it's still unacceptable, even if it doesn't affect me. I asked over on the UK regional forum what happens in this instance. Sure, they get their interview date over the phone from the DOS, but they still don't have their letter to actually be admitted into the embassy, right? So either way they would miss their interview!

The Immigrant Visa package (IV package) only contains the beneficiary's documents.

The letter isn't required. We didn't send one. Have you tried getting a tax return transcript so that you don't have to send the entire tax returns? You can go to an IRS office and walk out with what's required same day.

Help im confused!! What aos form should i use. I the petitioner will use i864. Then my father whom am i living in the same house will help me. So my father will use i864 or 864a?

you = I-864

father = I-864

your mother if she works and files jointly with your father = I-864a

/edit note, you'd think I'd learn to spell check before posting by now. LOL

Can you explain why the father wouldn't fill out an I-864a (rather than the I-864) if he is a household member with the petitioner?
