hi,

Posted

i have just called the NVC right now and i was told by them that the system is down right now and they cant answer any questions and i can call later to check...i just want to share you by these news guys smile.png

HAHAHAHA, omg. I just called them a few minutes ago as well. And when they answered and my agent was busy answering my question, some guy in the background started yelling "NO, NO, NO, NO! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT! ... (pause)... REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOOOOOOT!" The agent I was talking to was like "it's okay, calm down. It'll come back up in a minute."

I fix computers all the time. I understand that level of frustration. I felt very bad for them.

Someone get these guys a decent IT person, STAT!

Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even though subject of a pardon, amnesty, or other similar action? Yes or No. If yes, explain

Ok here you are:

-email from NVC to pay AOS fee

-AOS payment by your husband

-I-864 docs mail by your husband to NVC

-IV fee to pay

-IV package sending to NVC (IN THIS PACKAGE MUST BE YOUR POLICE CLEARANCE, BIRTH CERTIFICATE, MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, PHOTOS, COPY OF PASSPORT)

By the way if Police clearance not in English you MUST translate it.

So if all is ready you can send it to your husband now.

Question...

So according to the London embassy PDF, no one can get in for an interview without the confirmation letter, yet we shouldn't rely on receiving the letter and should keep calling NVC for the interview date. How do we get in with no letter? :S

Think you are getting the Interview letter (P4) confused with Case Complete Letter form NVC. You will get a P4 can't get in embasy without it.

Your embassy allows medicals to be done before case complete I believe you just need your letter from NVC when you get case# to show at medical.

So for support thing-- did I read correctly that I only need to include the most recent year? (this being 2012, bc we haven't filed our 2013 yet). I am including mine and my fathers as he needs to sponsor, as I am a full time student (though I have worked a partime job, but its nowhere near enough).

Yes, again I repeat: it's either the most recent year or the past 3 years. Up to you. Be warned, you may be asked to provide all three years at the interview. But for NVC, it's either or.

@Saylin & everyone concerned:

So on the AOS receipt, there's this part that reads:

"When the IV fee payment status is PAID, each applicant must submit an Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration. If your case was initiated after October 4, 2010 and your case number begins with AMM, ATH, BGH, LMA, MEP, or MTL you must submit your visa application form online. Otherwise you must submit the paper version of the form."

My case number starts with MNL, and before i got this email i knew for sure that i should do ds260. However after reading it, i got a bit confused. Just wanna clarify and be 200% sure on what form i need to submit. Ds260 or ds230? Thanks!

As others have said, it's outdated. NVC is slow to update their correspondence and instructions sent out. The DS-260 (and DS-261) is required by everyone now, as of September 1st, 2013.

Hi there,

I am doing the cover letter for the submission of the civil documents (IV package) and Im using the template on VJ.

But I dont get the following documents stated on the template:

· Original/Certified Passport Office Police Certificate for Beneficiary and a copy

· Original/Certified Police Clearance Certificate and a copy

What is the first one?? I read Saylin's post 1&2 and i didnt see anything related to that.

Many thanks

First one is applicable only for India.

My husband, US citizen, called NVC today, and they got our case on Jan 3rd, 2014. But when he asked about the NVC number, the guy on the phone said that I can check the case with NVC# or USCIS#. I was surprised by this. Because everyone here had been saying that NVC# and USCIS# are totally different. The guy on the phone also said that our laywer should receive a package sometime next week.

Questions:

1. Is there a specific NVC website to check the petition using NVC case# (just like how it works with USCIS website)???

2. What's in the package that we're going to receive???

The guy on the phone was wrong. You can only log into the payment portal and online forms portal using the NVC case number. The USCIS number won't work.

1 & 2: Please read posts 1 and 2. Your answers are there if you only read.

I have a hard situation here. I lived in China for more than a year. But I'm not sure if I can get China Police Clearance because my last employer didn't want to give a reference letter to PSB (Public Security Bureau) in China. Right now, I am still trying to figure out someone who can help me with this in China. What if I can not provide China Police Clearance? Will they reject my petition even though it got approved last November??

NVC can't reject or approve a petition. That's done at the interview. But, until you get everything needed for NVC, they won't complete your case. You can possibly request they close it without it and that you'll bring it to the interview, but if you still don't have it at the interview, you'll be put into AP until it's provided.

I have a question regarding the medical - when is the earliest that the medical can be scheduled? From what I am reading, it states that the interview will not be scheduled until the embassy receives the medical examination results, but I can't find anything that states when the medical can be scheduled.

The UK is eligible for advance medicals as soon as the case number is assigned. You don't need to wait for the interview letter like most of the other countries have to.

Thanks a lot smile.png

I will force my husband to call NVC every day every hour to get NVC case number smile.png. Great explanations by the way smile.png

Please don't call every hour!! Just once a day is fine!

Well, the question asks if you've ever been ARRESTED or CONVICTED. If he wasn't, then answer no. Simple as that.

No, passport photos. The beneficiary needs to submit 2 more passport photos (taken within the last 6 months).

this is how it's done for India - there can be 2 police clearance certs, one is related to a passport.

refactor the label you will use, write one of yer own choosing that reflects 'Police Clearance Certificate from <<Your Country>>'

Alrighty, thanks Darnell and Irra! smile.png geeez i wish they'd update those email responses soon to avoid confusion sleep.png

Show that petitioner the link, invite him/her to read all the contents.

Hello guys,

My husband and I submitted all needed doc and paid all fees.. Packages received 3days ago.. How long do you think we should wait before they tell us case complete or god forbid happy.png checklist ??

Thanks

end o January, 2014.

What news of a face to face meeting with a Consular Official at the China Embassy in Jakarta ? I say start there.

Thank you so much! I tried but it was stated "Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error." Maybe I'll wait for 2 business days. Good luck!!!

the switch for being 'on'

is usually flipped,

same day the AOS FEE BILL is sent out via email to the petitioner.

don't have it yet? wait.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
