Hi Saylin smile.png

Just wanna ask about ur opinion.. Husband is going to include tax transcripts and w2s of the last three years (he will still wait for 2013 w2 to be available on the 15th), a letter of explanation regarding his deployments, and another sheet of paper (idk what it's called) that shows his rank, date of employment, etc. in his AOS package.. Do u think thats enough? He was deployed in 2011 and 2012..im just worried we will get a checklist or nvc will think he didnt make enough in those years.. Your feedback will be appreciated. Thank u smile.png

I am a little confused now on the British medical requirements. My husband was originally going to go down to London for a week and schedule his medical for the beginning of the time he was there, so that the embassy would get the documents by the end of the week when his interview was (we don't have the date yet obviously). But the previous comments about getting an early UK medical made me curious and I was on the Embassy's website and saw this: "The medical examination must take place before the visa interview. The Embassy will not schedule the interview until they have received the results of the medical examination." This is on their immigrant visa page: http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/medical-examination.html

So obviously I know you need to get the medical before the interview, but the second part of the statement is freaking me out. I thought that the NVC scheduled interviews, for one. I'm already a little nervous about him getting the medical so close to the interview, but I know people generally say to wait... is it going to be ok for him to get the medical as we had planned? Why does their website say that??

You have to read it all. Since your embassy does DCF this is why it is stated this way. Don't worry resukts are sent to embassy within 5 days so plan accordingly.

"Those whose application is being processed by the Embassy, will not receive an appointment date until the Immigrant Visa Unit has not only completed action on the application, but has also received the results of the medical examination. "

Ok again I have a few more questions on filling out the I-864, but now for my co-sponsor. He is my brother, a USC, and in 2010, 2011, & 2012 he had no problem covering the poverty guidelines, but in 2013 he opened his own business and quit his job and his income doesn't reach the minimum, so I was wondering two things, can I combine his income with my income, or if he just sends in his tax returns from 2012 since 2013's taxes aren't required to be filed until April 15th and takes 60 days to be returned and I am hoping to complete NVC stage by then. Or what other path would be my best option?

If you need a joint sponsor, you need to find someone CURRENTLY making enough. Although past years play a little part, NVC focuses more on the current year. If he's under the poverty line currently, he's really no good as a sponsor.

Shoot im not sure about the exact numbers and i cant bug him right now :/

Current is 36,000.. Last year was about 30.. 2011 was 25ish.. I forgot how much in 2010..

But if you're talking about taxable income then it's definitely lower, 2012 was just around 10,000 coz of deployment :/

If your household size is just 2 people, then it sounds like he's making more than enough above the poverty lines, so you should be fine. But I don't know anything about deployment and how that affects this.

Thank you so much Saylin, your always right on top of things here, your a great help, about this sponsor, if he can combine what his income is and his wife's income, then they do make enough, they have 5 children, so I was looking under the houshold size of 8 and they make just over 50,000 a year, and the minimum is just under 50,000 so I was wondering if that would work combining his and his wife's income.

Hello, Just got my case #. Mine was NVC received on Dec 13th.

Now they are telling to wait 20 more business days before I can make a payment. I thought we could have make payments for AOS in couple days.

I'm not sure if varies from country. I did received my case number by email. I tried to do DS 261 with the beneficiary IIN and was not letting me log in. Then I tried with the petitioner and was able to log in, complete DS 261 and pay the AOS today. Tomorrow send the package and wait for the IV to be invoiced.

Good Luck.......
