do u know if they have OPT IN for India

thanks

No. The link to the list of eligible countries for EP is in the first post.

Apologies, I missed it.

Ok, that makes sense. I guess London is one of the few that does then as most people I see on British Expats have their medical completed before case completed at NVC.

Thanks for your help.

Yup, I know of the Philippines and the UK primarily that allow advance medicals.

It's USCIS all over again. I am in the same boat. I received my case number 10 days ago and I am still not able to fill out DS-261. Every time I call NVC they tell me to wait one more week.

Calling NVC everyday to try to get my number...funny how everyone answers things differently. Yesterday I got told I would have my number within 10-20 business days, so probably Friday the lady said. Today he said 20 business days!

Its just hilarious, but I know I have to keep calling every day until they assign one. Happy to be out of USCIS at least, and so far NVC has been very friendly.

Hi Saylin :)

Just wanna ask about ur opinion.. Husband is going to include tax transcripts and w2s of the last three years (he will still wait for 2013 w2 to be available on the 15th), a letter of explanation regarding his deployments, and another sheet of paper (idk what it's called) that shows his rank, date of employment, etc. in his AOS package.. Do u think thats enough? He was deployed in 2011 and 2012..im just worried we will get a checklist or nvc will think he didnt make enough in those years.. Your feedback will be appreciated. Thank u :)

I was so excited like you to get my case number but can't do anything with it?? Cant pay AOS or do online forms because it says not invoiced yet:(( Got my case number on the phone January 3rd??

Yup. I am assuming you are reading the content in the links posted at post #1, and the faqs in post #2,

but

in case you've missed them -

The AOS FEE BILL actually getting invoiced is a big event in your process for NVC Doc Intake, as the switch is turned on when the AOS FEE BILL arrives in yer email inbox.

This is one of the big reasons why we advocate and tell people to wait until Case Complete to get medicals. Imagine if you got medical back in November thats going on now 3 months time ticking off your Visa allotment time to arrive and you aren't even done or with interview.

Glad you cautioned to wait good for you.

I am a little confused now on the British medical requirements. My husband was originally going to go down to London for a week and schedule his medical for the beginning of the time he was there, so that the embassy would get the documents by the end of the week when his interview was (we don't have the date yet obviously). But the previous comments about getting an early UK medical made me curious and I was on the Embassy's website and saw this: "The medical examination must take place before the visa interview. The Embassy will not schedule the interview until they have received the results of the medical examination." This is on their immigrant visa page: http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/medical-examination.html

So obviously I know you need to get the medical before the interview, but the second part of the statement is freaking me out. I thought that the NVC scheduled interviews, for one. I'm already a little nervous about him getting the medical so close to the interview, but I know people generally say to wait... is it going to be ok for him to get the medical as we had planned? Why does their website say that??

Ok, dancin5hr.gif I got the "This case is now enrolled in the Electronic Processing Program" email, along with my new GZO case number. It also says, "This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will be receiving an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition."

Do I need to wait for snail mail at this point?

There won't be any snail mail.

Pull the trigger, send out the DS-261 nowish.

----

I've a wiki page here at EP for Guangzhou - it's listed in post #1 still. Minor changes in it (Still need to update it) -

--DS-261 and not DS-3032 and

--DS-260 and not DS-230
