Hi guys,

Just got off the phone with NVC and I have a question.

I completed the online DS 261 of Dec. 30- the NVC accepted in on January 3rd as told by the NVC operator. When I asked when to expect the IV fee to post they said I would have to wait up to 3 weeks, is this accurate? What has everyone else been waiting after submitting the DS 261 for IV bill to post?

Thanks,

lots of senior members have said that 3-4 weeks is a good estimate after you fill out the DS-261

Specific Question, hopefully someone can help.

Husband lives in Halifax and they do police certificates online: his came back and its clean, but how would I use this when I scan in the files? I could always print screen the page, and it is an OFFICIAL website (it links off the halifax police website).

The AOS and IV packages can be sent from anywhere in the world. NVC doesn't care. As long as they receive it, that's what counts.

Picture requirements for NVC can be found here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visaphotoreq/visaphotoreq_5334.html

They don't provide physical certificates? If not, I'd suggest printing out the page online, then scanning it and using that for the IV package. He'll have to bring the print-out then to the interview and hand that over as they'll be keeping it for their records.

They do, but they discourage it and it says it might take a while to get a physical one: there was a terrible blizzard in Halifax last week during the only time he could go, so he just opted to get it done online. It does have a PRINTABLE version. I think I'll ask him to get a physical copy to be safe, but I am just trying to get all my ducks in a row once I get assigned my NVC number... I want no delays on my end.

EDIT: The printable version looks official, so I think I'm alright. It even has a verification # on it.

Does anyone know how long it takes for NVC to respond to a checklist? I received a checklist on 12/26/13 and responded to it the next day. They received it on 1/2/14. And they gave me the standard 30 business day response. Anyone know of having them look at those any sooner??

What was your checklist? I'm waiting on mine

It was for my affidavit of support, I guess I didn't fill out something correct on my 1-864a for my dad's info. I got a checklist today that I believe its a false one, because it states that they need me to reply to the other checklist which i did and i've received. So i'm confused whether or not they'll actually look at it sooner or they'll make me wait the 20 BD

That sux to wait all over again.. I am worried about getting a checklist on the AOS also.. I did the EZ and all looked good but I didn't submit pay stub or employment letter because it said optional.. Hopefully they just say bring to interview..
