The first three letters are the embassy code. For example, for Canadians, they're assigned a MTL number; MTL standing for Montreal.

And you don't need the BIN anymore, so don't worry about it. You just need the case number and IIN.

Either pressure your attorney to send it or dump him. Otherwise you're going to be waiting awhile, wasting precious time.

Emails can be delayed by several days. Never rely on correspondence from NVC. Unless you're not in any rush, then wait.

This would probably be better asked in your regional forum. I personally just rented a car, put all my belongings inside, and drove across the country. But that's not exactly feasible for someone in Sweden tongue.png Try searching here for Europe: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/ I'm sure there's threads already on methods of moving. Depending on how much stuff there is, some people just pack it all in suitcases and bring it on the plane with them.

THANK YOU SAYLIN - HAHA DRIVING WILL NOT BE AN OPTION NO:-p

So upset!

Just received an email about a checklist..

One says, they received my ds-260 and are waiting for my aupportinging document (assuming this is the IV package?) is this a false checklist then?

And AOS.. For my mother in law, not my husband, she's a joint sponsor.. It's says we have to correct and complete section 1-8 that the AOS they received was missing the following pages.. Which def is not true..we sent a complete package which I doubled checked many times.. In a checklist, do I need to sent all the supporting documents if it's not asking for that? Sooo frustrated.

Hi all

I have just started my DS260 and have realised that I wont be able to finish until next week as I wont have some of the information unti then.

Is it ok to leave it as saved/incomplete for that long? Do NVC care how long you leave it unfinished?

Cheers

guys NOA2 on 12/31/13 and no case # yet, should i be concerned?

I received NOA2 on 12/4 and I'm still waiting for my case number along with a bunch of others with a similar date. It's taking longer I assume due to the massive load of cases being approved since the transfers started.

Said another way.....

If you go to the USCIS website and download the newest I-864 and the instructions, they are confusing when it comes to part 5 and 6.

The form instructions state to put the current individual annual income from line 5 in line 6c (under Person 1), but on the I-864 itself,

it then says to add lines 5, 6c etc etc and place total on line 10... you wouldn't count the sponsors income twice so it doesn't make sense.

What's the correct thing to do and why are the instructions contradicting?

Thanks for any help on this!!!

True, it's definitely confusing. I put N/A on 6c in order to not calculate my income twice. I think it may have been used in the previous I-864 version. If anyone else has input please add, thanks.

I wrote nothing in the blank. I called the NVC and they told me to write in 0.00 (if I didn't file). I thought when I was filling it out, if I write in 0.00, they might think that I actually filed taxes with no income. Thus didn't write it in. What do you think I should do?

Respond to the checklist by doing a new I-864 and write what the NVC told you to write the first time! Then include a letter saying you were not required to file income taxes because... whatever the reason was. Leaving it blank was wrong. At the very least you should have written "not required to file" but if the NVC said to write 0.00 then follow their directions.
