Hey Guys,,,

I have a question regarding filling up DS-261 form...

In "Security & Background" --> "Medical and Health" section, the second question is "Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?"

Now for India, they don't do medical check-up until we have appointment letter, so shall we answer this "NO" with a small explanation or just say "Yes" and show it during interview....?

congratulations...did you mail your IV and AOS to the NVC before you put the expedite request or no ? can you provide me by the example of the expedite request cover letter you used

Thanks! We paid fees and sent our docs to nvc after the expedite request was approved. We were instructed to pay and mail everything first, then they will review it and forward to the embassy.. The cover letter my husband made was basically just an explanation letter stating the reason and our situation.

A few hours after we submitted our DS-261 online, the AOS bill showed up in my e-mail. So now that's paid, and I'll be sending out the packet tomorrow.

It looks like I'm eligible for the I-864EZ, because even though I have both regular W-2 income and self-employed income, the W-2 income is enough to qualify. I'm actually having a hard time finding a hard-and-fast list of exactly what I should submit, so I'm going a little overboard and including 3 years of tax transcripts, 2013 W-2, and employment letter. If anyone reading this thinks I should add something else to the package, please let me know

I have noticed on some of your signature:
- NVC scanned AOS and IV pakage

- DS261 accepted

How can you tell packages are scanned and ds261 is acceted? Mine says completed. Thanks

I answered NO on mine and it was approved, because currently you don't have any documentation to establish vaccinations in accordance with US Law, if you answer yes, and they ask for documents, where are you going to provide them from? Just write an explanation explaining the situation.

Ok so my AOS package was finally reviewed by the NVC and got a checklist ( ). This is what it says:

In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

[x] Item 13.a. You must include your ___2012________________________________ tax and income information.

[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal

income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.

But I never filed taxes for that year (I have never filed taxes at all, parents claim me), I even sent in a separate written letter explaining that I don't file taxes and don't have an income and that I am a student currently. Any suggestions about this? What should I do?

Also I had a joint sponsor (we submitted everything, tax transcripts, w-2's, and pay stubs), how do I know which one they are talking about? Is it me or the joint sponsor?

Hi vjers..i need your help. Im really confused..if we file our tax as joint..is it really necessary that i have an income in my country?what if my income is too low? Where can i get ittn? My husband asked for a power of attorney cause i am not there yet to sign..so does it mean he chose the married filing jointly? Does married filing separately still needs power of attorney? By the way im not in usa yet and still waiting for nvc case number.whats the best option to take?

Sorry to ask again, but is there a timeline for how long I should be waiting on the e-mail after I sent the ENROLL one, and for how long it should take my bill to be invoiced? I got my # assigned last week (thursday)

What did you write in the 13a1 spots? 0 or nothing or "was not required to file"

Depending on what you wrote here depends on why they sent you the checklist. You can call back and ask for a supervisor review on the I-864 or ask what they feel is appropriate for those spaces.

Saylin, thank you so much for your help with the forms, etc.. and also to Darnell, Dwheels and NLR. We got case complete yesterday (expedited: military orders) and just waiting for an interview to be scheduled.

I am confused... below is a quote from the instructions for I-864 Part 6

6. Annual Household Income.

This section is used to determine the sponsor’s household income. Take your annual individual income from Item

Number 5. and enter it on Item Number 6.c.

There is only one person in my household now. I thought I should leave 6c blank.

If I put the number in and then follow the instructions on Part 6 line 10 and add

all lines it will be incorrect. Thanks for any help
