Thank you Saylin.

I called my attorney many times and I had to raise my voice. It seems his paralegal messed up everything and now his paralegal is asking to submit DS230. I was mad and lost my patience (He couldn't say the right form - the new name). I have being following this thread from the beginning and have a very good idea about the process, thanks to you and other contributors. I should have done this by myself without hiring attorney. There instances in your life, you make some decisions and then you regret. I guess this is part of the life.

Hopefully he will mail the 2 pkts today or tomorrow.

Unfortunately, most lawyers are slow and/or not on the up-and-up with the current process. I suggest calling him often to make sure the packages are sent out. And make sure you request proof that the package was actually sent out (like a tracking number), as I've seen numerous times on here where a lawyer claimed they mailed out packages, but never did.

Managed to make him understand that he needs to ship the docs and he is going to do it today. Created UPS label for overnight shipping.

Hope he will send all the required docs in right packets and I will not get any checklist. I asked him to have 2 pkts separate. He is going to put 2 pkts (AOS & IV) in one big mail cover and ship. Hopefully this should be OK.

As long as both packages are clearly marked, then yes, it's fine to send them in the same mailing envelope.

Received beneficiary ID and invoice identification number today by calling NVC. Sent out ENROLL email.

Now waiting for DS-261 to appear online!

India is not eligible for EP, thus there was no point sending the opt-in email.

You can add me to the spreadsheet!

All I needed was the NOA2 date :P But, it'd be a great idea if you put all those dates in a signature. It'll help others who study timelines :)

:)

I followed the instructions in NVC site

Use Email Communication

The immigrant visa application process requires several exchanges of correspondence between the NVC and the parties to each petition. The NVC strongly recommends email as the quickest, most reliable, and most secure way to communicate, following the instructions below.

How to Enroll Your Case for Email

To establish email communication, an applicant, agent, or petitioner must enroll the case by sending an email to nvcinquiry@state.gov.

When composing the email, include:

For any petition: all email addresses which will receive electronic correspondence.

For family-based petitions: the applicant's full name, email address, and date of birth; the petitioner's full name, email address, and date of birth; and the name, email address, and postal address of the attorney of record, if applicable.

For employment-based petitions: the name and address of the sponsoring employer.

The NVC will then stop sending paper letters and instead send email messages to the email address from which the message came and every other email address included in the message.

Ohh, that's not what we refer to as the Enroll email. The Enroll email is for those eligible for EP who send an email to opt-in to the program. What you sent is just an email to get email correspondence from NVC. Which could have been done over the phone and would have been an instant. By sending an email, it'll take them a few days to get to it.

I suggest you re-read posts 1 and 2, as this is covered there.
