Finally last night, the DS261 is available to fill out. Is it other folks' experience that the AOS becomes payable before they get official e-mail notice, or should I keep checking the site?

Thanks, everyone!

Thanks but I have to follow a slightly different route to get the PCC.Wonder if PCC provided by the District Police station for Non Indian would have the same validity as the one provided by the Regional passport office. I guess i'll have to either call or visit them to find out.

I'm still confused about this bar-coded cover sheet thing. I paid my AOS fee and it took me to confirmation page with two bar codes at the top- one with my case number and one with a number that started with AA etc... Is this the right cover sheet? Thanks!

Unless they've changed things, there should only be one bar-code. When you log into the payment portal and click on the AOS fee, there should be a button that says 'print document cover sheet'. That's what you need.

Hello everyone, I got my USCI NOA2 on December and already paid my AOS fee for NVC, currently filling out AOS form and feeling stupid because I can't understand the freaking instructios! lol, havng a mental breakdown right now lol.

I have a question, regarding the IV package, my birth certificate is in spanish, I am in Colombia (spanish speaking country) must I translate it to english, and if so, do i have to be a certified translator to do so, or can I just translate on my own?

Also, when will the IV fee be available for payment since the DS261 was already filled out on monday?

Thanks for your help!

I'm trying to determine what I need to put on the AOS. I had an odd 2013, so I have 2 W2's and a 1099 as well. I was laid off from a job in April, did contract work until I had my baby in August and then started my current job in October. The salary that I make per year now will not reflect what is listed on my IRS transcript. I am still well above the poverty line for both 2013 and my current salary, so I am not worried about making too little. Last years total gross is actually going to end up being more than what I will make for this upcoming year. My letter of employment will also not match what my earnings were for last year so what the heck do I do?

What exactly is your question?

For the question on current income, put your current income, what you're making RIGHT NOW, as of the filing of the paperwork.

For the question on the three most recent years, use the incomes from your tax return transcripts.

The employment letter is tied with your CURRENT income, not any past years' income.

Saylin

I am still waiting for my case no. Do you think its too early for me to get a Police certificate now?

Also can you please add me to the spread sheet as well. Many thanks.

Added! And now would be an excellent time to get your PCC!

I recieved our case number and IIN. Case number starts with THT and ten more numbers what does letters mean? When do we get beneficiary id number?

Thanks.

The first three letters are the embassy code. For example, for Canadians, they're assigned a MTL number; MTL standing for Montreal.

And you don't need the BIN anymore, so don't worry about it. You just need the case number and IIN.

I have very sad situation. I submitted DS260 on 23rd and handed over the documents to Attorney. He said he is going to mail the AOS & IV packet last week and he hasn't done that yet. He is saying NVC suppose to send checklist and when he receive that he will respond with the documents. But I know it is NOT true. I don't know what to do & I'm depressed now as I'm on F2A category and may not have time left to get my spouse here.

Either pressure your attorney to send it or dump him. Otherwise you're going to be waiting awhile, wasting precious time.

Finally last night, the DS261 is available to fill out. Is it other folks' experience that the AOS becomes payable before they get official e-mail notice, or should I keep checking the site?

Thanks, everyone!

Emails can be delayed by several days. Never rely on correspondence from NVC. Unless you're not in any rush, then wait.

A little off subject here- but

Trying to figure out what way is cheapest to move things over. Shipping companies seem all to be so so expensive - and these are sentimental stuff and nothing of value :/ Any suggestions anyone?

This would probably be better asked in your regional forum. I personally just rented a car, put all my belongings inside, and drove across the country. But that's not exactly feasible for someone in Sweden :P Try searching here for Europe: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/ I'm sure there's threads already on methods of moving. Depending on how much stuff there is, some people just pack it all in suitcases and bring it on the plane with them.

Thank you Saylin.

I called my attorney many times and I had to raise my voice. It seems his paralegal messed up everything and now his paralegal is asking to submit DS230. I was mad and lost my patience (He couldn't say the right form - the new name). I have being following this thread from the beginning and have a very good idea about the process, thanks to you and other contributors. I should have done this by myself without hiring attorney. There instances in your life, you make some decisions and then you regret. I guess this is part of the life.

Hopefully he will mail the 2 pkts today or tomorrow.
