Hi there.

I'm the USC and am with my husband in Australia

waiting (wading) through the NVC process.

Our approved app was sent to NVC on 1/27.

I'm trying to prepare all our documents and have

a few questions:

I was told by an NVC agent today that I had to

file one of the 4 AOS forms (1-864, 1-864a, 1-864ez,

Or 1-864w). I am self-employed and can't see (after reading)

which form I use. He stated it HAS to be one of those 4.

Does anyone know?

Also, can I just print my tax transcripts out from

the IRS site and send them 'as is' in my AOS packet?

Or do I need an American consular employee (since we are in

Australia) notarize them?

And finally, I must exit Australia at the end of March.

Which, according to latest NVC processing times, -- our

application will probably not be processed by then.

My husband and I were thinking that we could wait out the

process in NZ.

Has anyone changed there Consular/embassy address

for their interview and visa completion?

Thanks in advance.

to answer your question regarding changing the embassy for further processing ie the interview... I am currently trying to make that happen for my husband - he is a citizen of Pakistan but currently residing in the UK on a student visa. The NVC has three criteria to assign a US embassy/consulate 1) country of citizenship 2) country where you can provide valid proof of residence (ie work visa, landed immigrant card etc) and address 3) if currently in the US, then country prior to living in the US. FYI... I sent (emailed) in my husband's proof of residence and address on 12/27 and got a receipt of acceptance of the material saying that the NVC has received and it is under review. It has so far been 17 business days and still no response from them (which they said they would contact me once the review is complete). Everytime I call, I get the answer that "there is no time frame please wait." One NVC rep replied "up to 30 business days" but not sure how that holds up against the 7 who replied no time frame. Basically, they put the entire case on hold, meaning you can't pay any fees, or submit any documents until you get a new case number. Ergo, it can be done, just not sure how long the wait is to get a new case number and proceed. Good luck!

NOA2 Jan 21

Added!

Would it matter that we haven't received an e-mail or snail mail copy of our NOA2 yet? NVC already has our file...

Nope. You don't need the NOA2 except for your own records, so it's fine.

Checking in, just received hard copy of NOA2, said shipped to NVC as well. NOA2 on Jan 23.

Question, how do I find out if NVC case status like on dock, in building, etc?

I called NVC and was to wait 8 weeks.

Thanks and good luck to all

You can only find out by calling NVC and asking.

8 weeks O_O

AOS question: Is it okay to submit printouts of the tax transcript from http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript or does my husband need to submit the official hardcopy? Will I also need the original for the interview or will the printout suffice?

Yup, print-outs are fine. I'm sure they look exactly like the ones sent by mail. The tax transcripts will be sent along to the embassy/consulate, so you're fine. You should print out a copy for your records though.

Well, of course it will. You now have to send in the checklist and it'll take them another few weeks to review it, just like the original package.

Wow, it does not sound like we fit any of that criteria.

Hopefully it works out for your husband.

Best of luck!
