1. Yes. The AOS package is part of the AOS track. The IV fee is part of the IV track. The AOS and IV are different, independent tracks that have nothing to do with one another. Please see the flowchart for a visual (can be found in my signature below as well as the first post).

2. Eh blink.png What the...

Can others confirm this?

1. it's groundhog day. I swear I saw this same response within the last 48 hours.

2. K-1 visa chasers, after casefile leaves NVC, cannot get casefile status anymore. DoS Hotline apparently to be disconnected from the Consular Casefile Processing System - but I still not sure what that means.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I just saw another thread where people have tried calling DOS and they were told they couldn't help. They got the same answer. She was a K1 and I am a CR1/IR1 so they won't answer on either case type. :(

I called NVC (waited 21 minutes just to have a 30sec conversation with an agent lol) to check if they already received our documents. He told me they received something today but he doesnt know yet what docs (if AOS or IV) and that they wont know until it has been reviewed which will take upto 30days. What is EP?

Electronic processing. It's mandatory for Mexico so something you should certainly read up on. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/how-to-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

Hi,

My I-130 has just been transferred, expecting for an approval soon.

I am hoping to learn with you, experienced guys!

1. What is the average time a petition takes from NOA2 to NVC?

2. If we call NVC, how soon we can get the IID# and case #?

3. How soon, after getting those numbers, NVC will make them available for us to pay the fees?

4. How long NVC takes to examine the packages and approve the case?

etc....

5. Is there a spreadsheet with the above records of NVC timeline of VJ members?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Lukiduki

1. This varies greatly by service center/local office. Some places send out the petition right away, others take weeks to send them out.

2. Once they've received the petitioner, typically a few weeks for a case number to be assigned.

3. The AOS fee is typically invoiced within a few business days, IIRC.

4. NVC operators say 30 business days, but based off people's timelines here, it's a little less.

5. I have a spreadsheet, which you can find in post 1 or in my signature below.

Someone needs to review the first two posts ;)

I just saw another thread where people have tried calling DOS and they were told they couldn't help. They got the same answer. She was a K1 and I am a CR1/IR1 so they won't answer on either case type. sad.png

Boo.

1. it's groundhog day. I swear I saw this same response within the last 48 hours.

2. K-1 visa chasers, after casefile leaves NVC, cannot get casefile status anymore. DoS Hotline apparently to be disconnected from the Consular Casefile Processing System - but I still not sure what that means.

1. Yup, I see this question a lot. If only people read posts 1 and 2...

2. Weird. Doesn't sound like good news...

If you have an MEP number it is... Maybe of the other consulates it's not... and I can't say what happens for a K1 or non-spousal visa.

That's your USCIS receipt number and is now no longer relevant at this stage. You will be given a new number by the NVC once the file is received and scanned into the system.
