i have a quick question,

the DS-261 is ready to be filled out, I (petitioner) will be filling it out for my spouse. On page 2 (i looked at the screenshot's in post 1)

would that would be my spouse's information i am suppose to fill in there?

until it says do you wish to appoint an agent then i will put my information there on page 4 correct?

You would put yourself as the agent. If you have a lawyer then you'd put the lawyer's name.

Kinda in a panic mode now. I wonder if NVC stands by their rule of giving case number in 10 to 20 business days. Are there anybody who had to wait 30 or 50 days for a case number?

Most timelines on VJ shows that NVC is working preeety consistently. However, its a goverment baranch afterall, so who knows. Its definitely not 10 days, but somewhere around 20-25 business days. Moreover, we lost one business day to MLK and probably one to bad weather in up North.

Hi! We just moved to NVC. I was naive enough to think it'd get easier! I spent the last few days trying to get my head around the many steps/ milestones. I think I have an overall picture, but not an idea of the current timeline.

Lately, how much time is it taking from receiving NOA2 to NVC receiving the material? And how long does until we get the case number? I understand right after that we can file the DS-261, correct?

Thank you

There's a link to Forms portal in one of the first two threads. After you get the case number and invoice ID you should start checking it and eventually the DS-261 becomes available (not immediately).

I'm the beneficiary.

Hi all,

I am getting ready to file my Affidavit of Support. I have tax transcripts for 2012, 2011, and 2010, a letter from my employer, and pay stubs. Do I need to file my 2013 tax return before I send everything? I want to send everything out ASAP, but I still haven't gotten my W2 from my previous job. Is it worth it to wait until I can file my 2013 return before sending the AOS package?

I think you should send it in already so there isn't a delay, You will need the 2013 tax transcripts if your interview is after April 14, 2014. In that case, transcripts should be taken to the interview.

Since the DS-261 should be filled out by the beneficiary as it's their form, yes, the information pertains to the beneficiary. You'd only put your information in the section for selecting an agent.

Who has the arrival date to NVC similar to mine? Our I-130 arrival date to the NVC building was on Jan 13... Still waiting on a case number. This waiting is sickening.

How long had it been taking for people to get case numbers? Also how long after case complete has the LONDON embassy been scheduling interviews?

How long after case complete had the LONDON embassy been taking to schedule interviews?

It's taking a little less than 30 business days to get a case number.

For country-specific time frames, you need to do your own research as it varies by country. Start here for the UK: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=United%20Kingdom&dfile=No&adv=

And keep in mind, NVC schedules the interview date, not the embassy.

Im confused..Do we need to use 2013 tax for the AOS..if ever we use the 2012, and then our interview would be later than april 15, Do we need to bring along the 2013 tax..Im really confused on this.. please lend me a light..

You can still use 2012 as the most recent tax year. Only after the tax deadline of April 14th will 2013 tax information be required, both at NVC and at the interview.

Saylin, If you want, you can add me to the spreadsheet.

NOA2 Jan. 3, 2014

NVC Received Jan. 21, 2014

Added your NOA2 date! Tell me when you get your case number as that's the second column on my spreadsheet.

For your first question, this will vary greatly by what service center/local office your petition was at. Some places send out the petition within a few days. Other places will take weeks to send the petitions out to NVC.

Once NVC does have your case though, it's typically a little less than 30 business days for a case number to be assigned.

And yes, after you get a case number, keep an eye on the forms portal as the DS-261 will become available within a few business days. The same goes for the AOS bill.

Hi all,

I am getting ready to file my Affidavit of Support. I have tax transcripts for 2012, 2011, and 2010, a letter from my employer, and pay stubs. Nope, 2013 tax information isn't required yet. Only after April 14th. Once you do get your W2s though, I'd suggest filing ASAP as your interview may be after the tax deadline, in which then you will need 2013 tax information at the interview.

I think, if you want to send additional proof you should include it in the IV packet.

Yea but my wife is having hard time to print them and its easier for me to do so, I was just wondering if it would make any difference
