Ah, MSNBC again. After Alec Baldwin and Martin Bashir, you'd think they may have a better handle on staying away from controversy. Apparently not. <_<

Making racist jokes concerning an infant is contemptible, regardless of who it comes from.

I wonder if the good Rev. Jesse Jackson will be demanding a meeting with the management of MSNBC?

Former Republican Sen. Scott Brown, a friend of the Romneys, urged MSNBC to apologize for what he called the "wildly inappropriate incident. Viewers and the Romney family deserve better."

Is Scott Brown suggesting that MSNBC has viewers? I mean real, actual viewers aside from the Republicans that apparently view the program only to find something to be outraged about?

After Republican blogs and commentators pointed out the panel’s comments,...

Racist? Definitely not. More much ado about nothing.

I like Stephy's muse about how the picture is a reflection of the diversity of the Republican party.

It is nice to see that the black child will have a father who will be there for him.

Is that only nice when it happens to black children?

What a weird comment.

Adoption works when children, regardless of race, colour, or creed, find good homes with families who love them.

Race should have no place in the conversation.

Race should have no place in the way it was mockingly presented on MSNBC..... why just imagine if Rush has mentioned the photo and then sang "One of these doesn't look like the other".. as they did on MSNBC.

THEN it would have been roundly considered racist.

But speaking of adoption broadly, children do better if a same race family can be located, but so often that is not the case most especially when it comes to Black babies.

Rather than applaud Mit for raising kids who reach out to others, some on the Left can only mock.

And that sort of attitude only furthers racial discrimination. The race of the family, or the child to be adopted, should play no part in the adoption procedure, a point lost on you and MSNBC. If any favouritism is shown, on the part of the adoption agency, or the the prospective adoptive family, then the taint of racial discrimination will already have adversely affected the outcome.

In this day and age, that is something we, as a civilised society, should not be prepared to tolerate.

See what you are doing is pretending that when a Black child looks at a family portrait he won't realize he is Black (and others are white). You have a well intended social construct that exists no where in the real world.

Thats a nice dream, but it is not reality and your need to pretend it "can be" has a price which is not paid by you, but rather "some of these kids" in this situation.

We should all be willing to afford these children the best chance at fitting in and being nurtured into adulthood, even if that means race is a factor.

Would it be preferable for a child to have "no" parent rather than a different race parents? No, thats silly, but where the match can be made, it should be made.

Not at all. What I'm saying is that they will see their family and that the color of their skin will have no bearing on the thought process that goes into that.

Thats a nice dream, but it is not reality and your need to pretend it "can be" has a price which is not paid by you, but rather "some of these kids" in this situation.

I know a number of people who disagree with you rather strongly.

And so you openly advocate the continuance of racial discrimination, possibly denying children the chance a different race family may afford, to "fit in" with a racially homogenous family. Awesome. :(

-No doubt you can produce good results with mixed race adoptions, I simply said that statistically speaking, same race adoptions do better.

-In your mind any attention paid to race equals discrimination. I'm glad medical doctors are not seeing it that way or there would be a lot of misdiagnosed illnesses.

-It would seem we only disagree on the question of-

Is it more important to have a color blind adoption system or

is it more important to look at data and "try" to place kids where they "tend" to bond and connect better.

Once again,Liberals mock those that go out and actually do something to improve one’s life as opposed to expecting the government to take care of this child..

Once again, lostinblue (who seemingly can't understand the world without the aid of bigoted stereotypes) posts something irrelevant and completely out of touch with what anyone actually believes.
