Filed for aos on the 17 of december , still no answer

My husband just filed for my adjustment of status on the 17 of december, I see most people already got a receipt back, and we haven't. Should I try calling the USCIS?

Also, when we filed for I-130 , my son and I both got a receipt for it, but my youngest son did not. We called uscis and they said they did send one and it could have gotten lost in the mail, they gave me the receipt number but they refused to send me another receipt. So when we filed for aos, we were not able to she'd them a receipt for my son, we just wrote them the receipt number, is that fine?
