Hi all members,

I have been reading all the guides about after the NOA 2 and the NVC-DOS-specific consulate forms and process. I am thoroughly confused as it seems like most of the forms for the IR1/CR1 visa are done online now specifically the DS 260 and DS 261.

I am waiting for my case number from the NVC still as I got my NOA 2 on Dec 13.

What I gathered is that once I have my case number-

I fill out the DS 261 designation of agent and get an AOS invoice.

I then pay the fees of the AOS and other fee (about 300 total) than I mail the AOS to the DOS

My wife than receives a packet 3 from Montreal as she is in Canada and once she submits the DS 260 and checklist she will get the Packet 4. which enables her to set up her medical and interview.

Is this pretty close to the process? I just dont want to waste any more time in this bureaucratic process that has people jumping through more hoops than dolphins at sea world.

Thanks in advance for any guidance

Nope..

I fill out the DS 261 designation of agent and get an AOS invoice. Yep

I then pay the fees of the AOS and other fee (about 300 total) its $88 the IV Bill is $240

My wife than receives a packet 3 from Montreal as she is in Canada and once she submits the DS 260 and checklist she will get the Packet 4. which enables her to set up her medical and interview. There is no Packet 3 for IR1/CR1

Is this pretty close to the process? I just dont want to waste any more time in this bureaucratic process that has people jumping through more hoops than dolphins at sea world. IR1/CR1 do not schedule there interviews NVC does.
