Send only the copy of the Valid passport containing relevant info (the Bio page). Only petitioners passport copy is needed. If your beneficiary's passport contain your name as spouse ( some countries have that info, parents' name, spouses name etc), then you can send a copy of that to show evidence of marriage

If you are using a passport to confirm US citizenship you must send a copy of the ENTIRE passport, not just the bio page as per I-130 instructions.

But the instructions do not say one need to send the entire passport. It says copy of passport. I don't under stand the need to send copies of blank pages. No info is given by the blank pages. When requesting green card, they specifically say, front and back.

Yes for the NVC they specifically say the bio page. This does not.

Thanks rocketman n NLR. I have photocopy my entire passport. I once contacted a lawyer n he told me that I need to send in my husband's passport as well n his birth certificate, he's the beneficiary.

Shama786, so your I-130 hasn't approved yet ? I don't know long mine will take. I know tax returns n affidavit of support becomes a problem when applying for spouse. I've also been trying to find a joint sponsor since my hubby isn't allowing me to go back n work. Plus it won't really matter cuz they will use last year's tax return. Anyways, I hope ur petition gets approve soon :) inshallah n best of luck

No you do not need to send in the beneficary's birth certificate or passport with the I-130. That is very old adjudication rules.

So how much time does it take for a petition (i-130) to get approved?? I'm applying this Sunday (January 2014) I thought it takes abt six months. I'm worried now that it's gonna take forever to get approve.
