NLR, I did try to get my name on my husband's bank account and it got denied. They said that we will have to close his current account and open a new joint account n transfer the money there. Its a lot of work and I'm already stressing out over so many things. also, i'm going to send my I-130 this sunday so I will have months to think n go crazy about affidavit of support, lol.

Thank you everyone.

Is it really true? I actually thought of hiring a lawyer n contacted one. He gave me all the check list of documents that i need to submit to him, also a joint sponsor check list. He didn't say that he will find a joint sponsor for us when i told him that we don't have a joint sponsor. That's y i'm doing everything on my own. Please let me know if some lawyer do that and give information about that lawyer.

Thank you

one more question, my husband never entered the United States, so he doesn't have form I-94. or does he really need one or have one?

Unless a lawyer personally knows a multitude of individuals who are willing to act as joint sponsors, then the post that says a lawyer can arrange a joint sponsor is grossly inaccurate.

Lawyer = Throwing away money unecessarily. And you are saying it is easy to get a joint sponsor? This couple has not been able to get one so I am not sure what you conversation you have read.

A legitimate lawyer is NOT going to find you a co-sponsor. That's just silly, unless of course you come across a crooked lawyer that will "arrange" for you to get a sponsor for a fee I'm sure. But that smells really bad if you ask me.

I have a question not related to the AOS. My husband lives in Antigua (12) years but he was born in Guyana would his interview be in Guyana or Antigua which i think they go to Barbadoes?

Please start your own thread. Mahalo

When I immigrated we sponsored on joint savings so yes, it is possible. Keep in mind that you need three times the poverty guidelines when using assets, so if it is just you and your husband (no kids etc), then instead of a $20'000 income you'll need $60'000 in savings. The other issue is that many- not all- US embassies will want to see the assets US based so you may need to move your savings to a US bank account/ sell your foreign property and move the money to the USA etc.

^^^This.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I did a paper clip. Keep the photographs in separate ziplocks. On each ziplock, write the name of the person and identify it as petitioner or beneficiary. Also on each photo (back side) write (light stroke) the name of the person, DOB and A# if any. This is to avoid confusion if the photo gets mixed up.

Thank you rocketman.

What abt the two passports that r attached together for the beneficiary, do I send copies of all pages for both passports or just the new one? (One is expired)

You do not send passport photocopies for the beneficiary with the I-130. You send the photocopy of bio page of a VALID passport with the Immigrant Visa packet to the NVC after USCIS approval.
