I read and see that people get their 'case number'... our visa app is approved and sent to the Department of State. We have patiently waited and waited....

is there any advantage to having your case number, will it expedite the process????

any info is appreciated.. it is spouse visa from Philippines...

Yes of course, u should call nvc and check if they have already assigned a case number for you so you can start the process.. You need to pay fees and submit forms online and u gotta have ur case number to do that.

08.24.2013 - got married in the Philippines!

09.25.2013 - NOA1 via email

11.18.2013 - requested expedite due to typhoon

12.02.2013 - CFO seminar

12.12.2013 - I-130 approved, NOA2 via email (never transferred); shipped to NVC

12.30.2013 - NVC received the case

01.06.2014 - requested expedite due to typhoon and PCS

01.08.2014 - Case # and IIN; submitted DS-261; NVC asked for 2 contact #s of beneficiary

01.09.2014 - AOS fee billed

01.14.2014 - AOS fee showed paid

01.15.2014 - IV fee billed; expedite approved

01.18.2014 - sent AOS package

01.22.2014 - IV fee showed paid; AOS arrived at NVC as per UPS (10:18am by FNU)

01.24.2014 - sent IV package

01.27.2014 - submitted DS-260; IV docs delivered to NVC as per DHL (10:52am by PETERS G)

01.29.2014 - CASE COMPLETE (via phonecall)

01.30.2014 - received checklist for Dutch Police Record (VOG) via email

01.31.2014 - left NVC, sent to embassy

02.04.2014 - received at embassy, READY as per CEAC

02.10-11.2014 - medical done, passed!

02.24.2014 - interview: APPROVED!!

02.27.2014 - Received SMS from 2Go, ready for pick up

02.28.2014 - visa on hand; CFO sticker

03.01.2014 - paid ELIS

03.06.2014 - POE Hawaii...Aloooohaaa! :)

04.10.2014 - 2yr green card received

WOW you have some reading to do. You can't move forward without your case#. Please go to the NVC filers tread read post #1 and #2 and read up and follow the thread. You have much work to still do to get to interview.

Since its your I-130 that got approve you will be following the CR1/IR1 path. You should change your profile you aren't getting a K3 Visa.

In the notice that you recieved it says that they shipped it to the Department of State and that you have to give them 30 days to reply before inquiring them.

USCIS STAGE :

05/03/13 : I-130 Filed

05/06/13 : NOA1

11/22/13 : Case transfered to NSC

12/12/13 : NOA2

12/16/13 : Shipped to NVC

NVC STAGE :

01/08/14 : NVC recieved the case

02/06/14 : Case number assigned and IIN/BIN

02/11/14 : DS-261 Available and completed

02/12/14 : Received e-mail to pay AOS Fee

02/13/14 : AOS bill invoice available and paid

02/15/14 : AOS Mailed

02/18/14 : AOS status shows paid

02/19/14 : NVC received AOS package

02/28/14 : Received e-mail to pay IV Fee

02/28/14 : IV bill invoiced

03/03/14 : IV bill available and paid

03/06/14 : IV bill shows paid

02/28/14 : IV package sent to NVC

03/03/14/ : NVC received IV package

03/06/14 : DS-260 Available and completed

03/20/14 : Case Complete

Thanks for the responses, I will follow up. My prior advice was the attitude of don't call us we will call you when I called NVC.

Currently Phils seems to be at 170 days from NOA2 - Interview. You have only been waiting a little over a month. You have a bit more waiting to do.

Keep in mind CR-1 takes much longer then K-1. Are you sure the approvals you have been seeing are for CR-1?

Additionally, you had Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now New Year.

Just out of curiosity, why do you list your Consulate as Armenia?

I called two times a day. I never got scolded for calling. Just be nice and polite. It is highly unlikely that you will get the same operator on the same day. Also if you get an operator that is rude or it is obvious to you that they are not really checking anything just thank them politely and call back. You will almost certainly get another operator. Let's face it, we all have had bad days at work...if you get a disgruntled worker just call back.

Yeah that's the same bull they tell me too. Not to call them they will call you. I have learned to stay on top of things.
