Hi everyone,
My fiancé and I are currently on packet 3 and the last thing needed before we send back to the embassy is her Police Certificate. Is there a place in Chiang Mai to get this or does she need to travel to Bangkok to get the certificate? Can this be expedited or does it really take 3 weeks? She has called the The Police Clearance Service Center and no one is answering. Im worried with all the protests going on she won't ever get through.

Thanks in advance.

Can't do it in Chiang Mai, has to be done in Bangkok. Not sure if you can do it by mail or not. My wife was living in Chiang Mai at the time, and I paid a lawyer in Chiang Mai 5k THB to get it done so my wife didn't have to go to BKK to get it.

Ning will spank me for saying this, but yes you can expedite. For a fee like everything else in Thailand. I think we paid 1,500 had it in a week. Your fiance is Thai, she will know exactly how to handle it.

As Karee said, if you don;t want to make the drive, I'm sure she can find someone in the area to handle this for you. Again, for a fee.

Another option is send the P3 with a letter indicating you will hand carry the police report to the interview. I'm not a big fan of this approach, but Depends on how much of a rush you are in

Thanks guys!! I'll talk with Pung and see if she can find someone in Chiang Mai to help move this along. I appreciate the quick responses!!

These are the folks my wife used to get the police report in Chiang Mai. Like I said they charged us 5k THB.

Don't forget copy of petitioners passport and NOA2 and letter from NVC, they wanted all 3 for my case. Also the real price at police office is 100 baht, we negotiated 1,000 for one week service.

I know they have been asking for the USC passport, but I would be really reluctant to provide it. The police report is all about the beneficiary, it has absolutely nothing to do with the USC. There is no legitimate reason they need the USC passport.

We only provided the P3 letter. And 1,500 baht. Lol

i think they want it to have something to hold over you if you get angered about the "expedited service" fee. So yeah, it would be nice to not give it to them, but with out a letter from US Embassy BKK stating you need clearance you are at there whim.
