Oh well first off I wish everybody a Merry christmas and a Happy New YEar!!! We are all getting so much closer everyday this makes me really happy!

So tomorrow at 4:30 am I'll be passing through the customs at Montreal airport to go see my Fiance and his family for the holidays! Im just getting a little nervous in case the person working would be pissed to be there on a christmas eve so early  But oh well, I got my work paper, my embassy papers, car loan, return flight ticket, etc, to proove my ties to Canada in case they investigate a little more on me. So everything should be fine.

Only thing that came to my mind is about what they see when they scan your passport. I know some people on here say that they see your K-1 application. But thinking about the whole thing, I think its impossible for them to see that since we submit our passport number only they day of the interview on the DS-156. Cause some people dont even have a passport in their possesion before they get the packet 3 so its not asked anywhere else in the process. I don't know what you think about that all but its reassuring me a lot!!

Oh well, im stressed and nervous, but I think its gonna be fine! Ive seen so many people saying they never had a problem going through customs before they got their Visa, I just am more nervous because I'm going through an airport instead of going by car.

Ill keep you updated on that one! If you dont hear from me I'll be in Chicago tomorrow!

Have nice holidays everybody!

All will be well. When I was at the interview two weeks ago she said I could enter the states without activating the K-1 Visa..so I don't know how true it is that they can see it all. Regardless I think you will be fine. So many others have done it. Have a great flight. I would recomend however you bring some warm sweaters. It has been quite windy here in Chicago the last few days and that makes it seem much colder than the actual temp. Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Fantastic New Year! :)

Yes makes 1 wonder what they see, believe one stated that they can see if you have a visa application in the works, but who knows. I never had a problem on my monthly trips to DC whil ethe process was ongoing, answered there few questions and was on my way without showing any proof of ties (which I had) Answer them honestly, sound confident and look them in the eyes. Best of luck and safe travels

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Good luck! I hope you get a nice sweet border guard :) My fiance and I had trouble at the Vancouver airport a month ago; they said he didn't show ties to Canada and since we were in the K-1 process, he could not enter. However, I have called several different border crossings and each guard has given me a different answer. We got lucky a week ago and had an extremely nice guard who allowed him a land crossing. It really depends on the guard. As Flames said, be confident and answer them honestly. I imagine it will be fine .... you seem very prepared and able to prove ties. Soon you will be in Chicago!

Happy Holidays!

And so I'm in Chicago!:dance::dance::wub:

Off to spend an awesome week with my love.

As i thought they never mentionned anything about the K-1... I guess it depends how much to say to them and what notes they are taking. Many questions but as soon as I sais about my job everything was fine, no need to show any papers. 30 sec and I was my way to the security check.

Happy holidays everybody!!!!

Merry christmas and a happy new year with many approvals to come!
