I'm sorry if my suggestion to leave a country where you don't like the rules is offensive to youz here. It's not like it's a response to one random post; she has stated many times over that it's irresponsible to carry a gun outside the house, yet it's something that's legal and allowed here, due in part to our great freedoms. One way to be rid of those pesky gun-toting "irresponsible" people is to move away from them. If I lived next to an airport but didn't like the noise, I'd move. If I lived in a country where I didn't like the restrictions placed on me, I'd move. It's simply a matter of finding a place that fits. If I preferred castle living and the smell of Baltic sea air over the ability to own guns and shoot fireworks on New Years' Eve, I might moev to Lithuania. But thus far in life, I prefer our freedoms here.

Another thing that was "quintessentially American" was being able to migrate here at will from anywhere else in the world. That kinda went away, didn't it?

I have never said it's irresponsible to carry a gun outside of the house, what I have stated is that it is an action of a paranoid to take a gun with you every where you go. Quite different statements. Weaponry is not a fashion accessory, there is not need to carry a gun to go to a restaurant, cinema, shopping in fact most of the time having a weapon on you is plain stupid and not the act of someone who is being responsible with firearms.

Houston police released surveillance photos of three suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at a Denny’s in west Houston.

HOUSTON – Houston police released surveillance photos of three suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at a Denny’s in west Houston.

The suspects were described as three males with their faces concealed by bandanas or masks.

It happened at the Denny’s along Interstate 10 at Washington Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Monday, according to officers with the Houston Police Department.

Police said three men went into the restaurant and ordered all customers and employees to the ground.

A family member of one of the victims said the men took purses and cell phones, and even pointed their guns at small children. The men also stole money from the customers and the cash register.

Witnesses said the robbers became angry and started shooting before they left the scene. The bullets struck a customer and an employee who was trying to escape out the front door.

Family members identify the customer as 64-year-old Robert Placette, who later died at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

"He was a good man who always tried to do right by people," said Drue Placette, the victim’s son.

Witnesses say Placette was standing in front of terrified children to protect them when he was shot in the chest.

"They said when they started pointing guns at the kids like that, he got up and stood in front of them. That is the only thing that kind of makes me happy, makes me smile, makes me proud that he would do that," said Drue. "I think that my dad died honorably and I hope people remember that."

A 43-year-old Denny’s employee remains hospitalized at Ben Taub Hospital. He is expected to be OK.

The robbers escaped in a minivan, believed to be stolen.

Police spent several hours looking over the scene and the evidence, which included bullet holes in some of the cars parked outside.

Police said the men wore masks, but the crime and the getaway vehicle may have been captured on video by surveillance cameras.

If they are putting a gun to a small kid’s head, they need to be stopped," said Drue Placette.

Denny’s reopened a few hours after the deadly robbery. Regulars stopped by to check on the employees they’ve come to know.

"You never think it’s going to happen to somebody you know, or some place that you go, and it’s really sad when it does," said Peggy McMillan, a regular. "It’s horrible. We just want to check and make sure everybody is OK. I know somebody didn’t make it and we feel really bad about it."

I'd speculate that at least one but probably both of the two drivers that klilled each other after that road rage incident thought that they'd be safer with a gun. Turns out, they'd both be arguably would be alive today if they didn't have one. Odds are, they'd both be alive if only one of the two had one. Simple, really.

He gets to tell the story even though he was the opne without a gun. Means he's alive. That's more than the guy that confronted the armed road rage driver with a gun of his own can say. Anger is no excuse to pull a gun. It's a crime everywhere I know to pull a gun on someone for the intent to intimidate. Whoever had this happen should have take the plate number and reported it to the police.
