I would agree that on most days, it is safe to go around in the world without a gun on your person. The problem is, not every gun owner is reasonable. Nor a sane, moral person.

It only happened once, but a few years back, I was in the left lane, coming up on my exit (to the right). The guy on my right wouldn't budge an inch, in spite of my signal, and I had made eye contact, so I know he knew what I wanted. I sped up, he sped up, but my car was faster, and I was able to get in front of him and make the exit. He followed me, and when we got down to the stop light, he got out, yelling, cursing, and waving a pistol at me, threatening to shoot me. I had nothing. He finally gave up his tirade, backed up, and took off down the highway, never even intended on getting off at the exit.

It ended well for me, except the fear that I or my son was about to get shot. But it's people like THAT who make "sane gun owners" want to carry when they are out and about.

Just a thought, but did you think of possibly slowing down to let the other driver just pass you? Sounds like you were just as much the aggressor as he was. Why in the left lane so close to your exit? I might have done things a bit differently, especially with my son in the car.

The mall could set such rule on its property. If Kay's actually leases the parking spots in front of its store, it can set the rule on its property as well. It's not a matter of employer or not, it's a matter of private property rights.

Yes it is..and the Mall does not have a policy and kay is way out of bounds. The store owner told me it was pushed by corperate and she loses customers because of it.

No, I'm advocating avoiding a confrontation if possible. By what you posted it appears you were just as much to blame for where the run in ended up as the other guy was. Were my questions too difficult for you to answer? Why did you avoid them?

I met him. (I drove a golf cart around the course for the musicians during his tornado relief benefit concert last summer) he's a really nice guy.
