When people do good things we should be big enough to point them out.

Preventing us from getting entangled in another M.E. war is a good thing.

Pointing out the persons who might wish to blow up our people is a good thing (even if we don't care to listen.)

Obama the, guy who touted his background in studying and teach on the Constitution, is tracking and spying on every call, transaction and

internet key stroke you make..... and for you Putin is the DICTATOR.

That my friend is friggin laughable.

I think the obvious point to make here is that whatever you think the US government is doing (and by extension the UK and other European Governments are also doing) regarding monitoring communications, Russia is most certainly doing as well and likely on a more draconian scale.

You'd have had more of a point if you brought up Guantanamo and rendition etc. and the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars - because that is certainly more of the sort of thing you'd associate with Russia than with the USA. However you didn't bring them up - because that brings into question whether or not you agree with that sort of thing (and if memory serves, I believe you do).

But sure in Russia you can disagree with the President, you just might go to jail (or worse) for doing so.

Nope. I am beginning to understand how you think, so it seemed out of character for you not to automatically blame Obama for it.

Lostinblue is so deluded when it comes to Obama that I think its reasonable to question his mental health. Everything he posts on the subject of the president or the government runs the gamut from factually incorrect to completely divorced from reality (does anyone besides him understand this fixation with referring to Obama as 'The Kenyan').

It amazes me that people like this have the vote - in my view that sort of responsibility should come with a test of literacy and numeracy and of general political knowledge. You don't get to vote unless you can prove you aren't crazy.

I understand it completely. It's not really hard to comprehend.

To be sure. Who cares if people died in Russia as long as one can make a mockery of it, and blame some African Joe for the attack?

One of the things you must do to truly grasp these events is to "evaluate" anything you read or hear about Putin.

The biggest mistake people make on Putin-hate is this: Putin does what is good for Russia.... not the USA, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT A LEADER SHOULD DO.

So don't be caught up in the non stop Anti Putin coverage because

Here you are believing that in russia, one can't protest Putin without being punished.

Now it is true, Putin brought down Oligarchs which made billions off of corruption and then bought up TV and media to wage politics.

But when you look into these stories of reporters getting killed and all this, you usually find there is more to the story than the headline would suggest.

While Putins numbers are not as high as they were, he is still loved by the masses and supported by them, why shouldn't he be in office?

Politics is a rough and dirty game no matter where you find it.

Vlad is a skilled player.

I like him, if I were in Russia I would vote for him.

He has taken a broken country and rebuilt it.

He has done a few things that concern me and if he were to morph into the leader we have been promised he would since 2000 (what is he waiting for) I will adjust my view.

Well it's not r*cist. I mean, he said so. Right?

I think Lost truly beleives he isn't racist. If he would stop calling him the kenyan and tried to actually debate with facts, he could learn a thing or two.

We could also say the same about Obama..... except the "rebuilding the economy" part.

If you like Putin you are not a Democrat (and I mean that in the general sense, not the partisan sense).

Democracy is a limited tool for a limited number of people with a limited shelf life.

This is not the 1980's any more, we now understand democracy simply does not deliver the same results in all places.

For instance, in many countries Sharia law would clearly be democratically voted in. Female gentile mutilation would be voted legal.

One country might vote child brides are fine and another country vote the death penalty for adultery or for failing to recycle and another would vote to ban anti-gay speech (oh wait, that has already happened).

We could democratically change our Constitution to abolish freedom of speech, the right to assemble or the right to vote.

Thats right, we could vote away the right to vote (by following the amendment process in the Constitution).

In the United States it would require a constitutional amendment to abolish freedom of speech [sic]

In Russia, all it takes is Putin saying so for it to happen.

It is quite simple, really.

You just want to knock out the Tea Party by suppressing their vote.

You certainly could do that, and that certainly could happen if you vote in people like Putin.

I mean, he's already changed the law so he can have a third 6 year term.

"He" didn't change the law any more than our president changed the law to prevent more than two terms.

Why are you not so upset at FDR for trying to add members to the Supreme Court to pass his socialist agenda>?

Holy smokes, if there is a Stalin hidden inside of Putin, he is sure taking his time to come out.
