History is that I (USC) married a gal from Bulagaria and and after 2 years of marriage we werent working out and decided to divorce. We were in a true marriage but we could not agree at nothing. So we went to a lawyer who said if she wanted to stay she could remove the conditions of her 2 year greencard even if we divorced. I was helpful because the breakdown of the marriage was both ours fault. Well, wen she went to the interview she presented all the proofs that we were a true relationship. Apparently her proofs were not nuff and they denied her and said our file will be sent to the marriage fraud unit of ICE. She will be going in front of an immigration judge who will decide.

Fast forward to today...They (ice) show up at my door where we lived and asked me my side of what hapened with my marriage and advised me that my statement will used at the my ex wife's immigraiton hearing and that they will investigate some more. Not sure what to do from this point.

Blanket advise is to never speak to the legal authorities without an attorney. That being said, and know most people can't afford to hire an attorney for things as this......be honest, answer what is asked and nothing more. You might be being investigated for fraud also so remember anything you say can be twisted and used against you.

Goodness thats a mess all you can do is tell the truth. But did you see her package she sent in to remove conditions?

Was there any Domestic Violence allegations charges?

Has she been petitioned before?

Not a usual thing ICE comes a knocking unless someone said something or did something? I would surly go get legal counsel immediately just to cover you.

You are under no obligation to answer ICE's questions; you likely have nothing to gain and everything to lose by speaking with them.

ICE has different offices. You got the wrong office.

For the OP - you two divorced, she showed the evidence that you two meticulously prepared, showing a bonafide marriage, and you've had an ICE visit.

What do you want to occur?

I ask, because further answers depend on your wants, needs and desires.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
