Now you've made me think, I really don't recall writing down my (beneficiary) employment details on the G-325A form. And now I'm wondering if we wrote his. We double checked all our forms before sending them....panicking.

So far I haven't found any RFEs for something like this. But if its the only thing that we get an RFE for, I'll take it! Easy fix!

Hi guys.

Made a slight error in not including my fiancee's proof of US citizenship. She has lost her birth certificate so we are opting to send a copy of every page of her passport (as requested).

My question is whether these copies need to be colour or just black & white?

Sorry if this is stated elsewhere and is obvious, but we have no internet at present so I'm doing this off my phone and it's incredibly hard to navigate the site.

Thanks

Mark

It can be in black and white. Make sure you copy ALL pages and to help the officer, you should somewhat highlight (without obstructing the stamps in your passport) all of the entry and departure stamps to the country of your fiance. I simply drew arrows pointing to the correct stamps to look at.

TWO IMPORTANT RFE THAT YOU MIGHT MISS:

1- They need long-form birth certificate of the American Citizen on full copy of the American passport

2- Send TWO (2) letters of intent, and sign them (One from petitioner and the other from beneficiary)

We got RFE for the above mentioned reasons.

Good luck everyone :)

That is interesting. I only submitted one document for the Intent To Marry ... and had me and my fiancee sign and date it. Got no RFE. Guess it depends on the officer handling your case - and probably service center handling your case.

I did the same thing as well. As long as you both have original signatures on it and date it then that shouldn't be a problem.

Hi everyone. We got an RFE because the petitioner didn't send a BC or passport copies initially. She's now sent them both, but only the front of the BC and the ID/bio pages of the passport, not every page. Is this going to be another RFE or are we going to get denied and have to start over?

If it's the latter, will we get our whole pack w/ the evidence back?

Was there a back to their birth certificate or was it just blank? The Passport is just if they don't have the BC. Like for instance my Birth Certificate is blank on the back so there is no need to copy the back..... but IF there is a back to it then yes you must provide front and back......

There was nothing on the back of her BC at all, but I've seen people saying you need to include a note saying so.

It's so frustrating because the letter she got didn't specify 'both sides' or 'every page of the passport', it just said 'a copy of'.

I only submitted the front of mine and didn't include any note as everything needed was on the front. I personally don't think she will have a problem

It's so frustrating because the letter she got didn't specify 'both sides' or 'every page of the passport', it just said 'a copy of'.

I was wondering about this because the back of mine didn't have anything at all, either. It was an off-white color with weird little "sprinkles" looking lines on it. I went ahead & copied that & put a sticky note on it saying it was the back. I also sent in all pages of my passport mainly because of the stamps but just in case.

The guide on here says:

11. Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship.

So I would assume you need front & back or all pages of the passport..but I'm not sure about if the birth certificate doesn't have anything on the back. Is there any way for them to know a certain state's birth certificate doesn't have a back or would they just think you didn't include it?

So finally I got a copy of my first RFE from my lawyer. It seems that they need a signed Intent to Marry letter from my fiancé. And also need evidence that we have met in person. Both of those evidence and more we already sent to the lawyer when she filed our petition. In fact she was the one that drew up that letter and we both signed it. He sent her everything that she needed to file all at once with the petition. So did she not send all of our evidences when she first filed for the petition? I'm frustrated! That means more delays! I'm going to call her in the morning and also call USICS to get more information to see if ALL of my evidence was sent in. We collected every single piece of evidence and receipt that I have ever gotten in Tunisia! I also saw my fiancé twice for extended stay with him and his family within a 5 month time frame.

I seriously haven't slept all night! I've been exchanging emails with my lawyer why didn't USICS received all of my supporting evidence of my meeting my fiancé twice and why did she have us both sign our Intent to Marry Letter only to have them ask where my fiancé's letter is? She has it all and should have sent it all in. I asked if she filed in stages? Like the first, just the petition and then send the rest of the supporting evidence when they needed it? Why would she cause this delay in our process by not sending in everything that could make our case goes faster?

She has all of my original receipts and not just copies and then she goes on to say that she only received photocopies? And that my fiancé will have to sign and resend her a the Intent to Marry Letter, all of that will take more time to wait for all mailing to get from one country to another...I seriously was so organized! This was what was in my packet to give her. All she needed to do was look it over and submit it together!

I know it was crazy but I didn't know how many chat history USICS/Embassy will need to see. So I asked her but no response so I sent close to 400 pages and she can add the amount into the packet as she thinks we'll need. I know that's so much but she wasn't helpful in that area and I just started on VisaJourney.

So...here's what's in the packet:

*Chat histories from when we met: Nov 2011 to Mar/April 2014

*All boarding passes for two trips including all itineraries, Bank statements showing the airline ticket purchased

*Hotel receipts showing both of our names on it

*Car rental

* Receipts for places we seen and visited, museums and such...

* Restaurants, grocery stores, toll fees, bus trips, ferry fees to cross over to Djerba

* Photos of us together and at different places around the country, pics of our engagement party with all of his family members and many more pics of us with his family. There were probably over 20 pictures of us and family members. I wanted to show both of us together with his family and doing normal courtship stuff.

Seriously I collected every receipt all the way down to a cup of Expresso! I wanted to make sure that we had enough receipts correlating to show that I was there during that time plus have the pics to back it up too! You can say that I was a little camera happy and took a lot of pictures everywhere we went.

It was all organized into two folder labeled: First Trip: My dates of travel to Tunisia with all of the receipts and boarding pass arranged by the dates of travel. From the time I got prepared and left the States to Tunisia and back home I have all the receipts dated with pics to back it up that I was there with him. Second folder was labeled Second Trip: My dated of Travel to Tunisia, same organized receipt system from the beginning until I get back home.

All the rest was the petition which I checked and double checked to make sure that I signed every single place that needed my signatures. Everything that was supposed to be in there I had it. I even put stickers where she was supposed to sign as my representative. I was that detailed oriented. So how in the world does my lawyer not seem like she has my paperwork or my original receipt copies? I've asked her twice now to send me a whole copy of what she sent USICS so I can see what she sent them but I have not heard her tell me that she will send it to me. I'm losing faith in her work and professionalism. This is my life and I hired her because I thought it would help but I'm finding out now that I'm doing more than most of the work anyways and now I have to be on top of one more person and it's causing me more stress and money then its worth! I'm going to have one conversation with her today as soon as I can get some needed sleep so I can keep my cool when I'm talking to her. I feel she is so incompetent! Anyone having to deal with a lawyer like this? This process is hard and she is making it harder by not knowing where my paperwork is!!!

I am so sorry for you guys but believe me that is not a big problem at all.

yes, it is true your lawyer did a bad job and she did not sent the complete packet otherwise USCIS would not have asked you to send the documents that they already have. they asked you in RFE all those docs, it means they don't have it.

my lawyer e-mailed me each and every copy of what she was going to send to USCIS after my confirmation she sent it. though we received RFE they wanted a sign letter from us stating where we were going to get married, which state. but that was fair cause we did not include it.

in this case we sent the response to RFE directly to USCIS, we did not use the lawyer cause we would loose time.

I strongly advise you to skip the lawyer, just forget her and you guys sent the response to your RFE directly to USCIS, that is what we did to avoid huge delay.

if you send the doc to lawyer and then lawyer will send to USCIS this is lost of time.

you can see my time line, we did not loose much time in sending response to RFE.

besides you have super good evidences, but send them again, send them the copies if you have one and include the letter explaining what happened with the lawyer and you will be good.

we did not even had that much evidences but we got approved at the interview and I am in the united states with my spouse.

so just don't worry much, focus and every thing will be fine

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Tunisia
Timeline

I called customer care at Delta Airlines/AirFrance and she was able to email me my passenger tickets and baggage claim numbers for both trips to see my fiancé. I'm going to submit all of those docs to prove that I flew to Tunisia during the times that I said I did. I'm hoping that with those docs as proofs and with my passport stamp dated in and out of Tunisia, that is enough proof that I was there. The rest I will have to prove it with pictures which is secondary proof.

My fiancé will also resign the Intent to Marry letter and scan it to me so I can resubmit it to USICS for the RFE.
