Hello everybody! I am worried. We sent our RFE back to the CSC (via regular mail) last Feb 5th and until now there's still no status change on the website. We already realized that we should've have sent it via registered mail. Please help. Does anyone experiences the same?

I went to visit my fiance at his apartment in england. I stayed there for 10 days. We didn't do much of anything except walk around and hang out. I have boarding passes for me, my itinerary, my car rental, an engagment ring receipt, a few photos of us and a letter from his roommate stating that I was there those days. He didn't travel anywhere to be with me...I was at his place. How do I prove this? Will I get an RFE? I'm mailing this out in a few days and gathering everything now. If anyone has anything that could help, let me know?

I am the petitioner.

We got an RFE because they wouldn't accept our typed and signed Intent of Marriage letters, they wanted them handwritten. They also would not accept my Fiance's visa photos, he did them himself, following exactly to the instructions, but they threw them back and he had to get them done at the local pharmacy. They also would not accept his photocopy of his birth certificate, the requested a certified copy, which we are now waiting for

Letters of Intent have to be handwritten? I am about to send my I-129F out but I prepared nearly identical copies of the letter for my fiance and I on the computer (changing the names and genders in the appropriate area) and printed them out. Then we signed them and dated them in black ink. Is this unacceptable?

That can't be right (handwritten LOI) -- I'm pretty sure the majority of people submit typed LOI. Must be signed though with an original signature..

We got an RFE because they wouldn't accept our typed and signed Intent of Marriage letters, they wanted them handwritten.

Has this happened to anyone else? I sent off the packet last week and ours were typed, printed and hand signed, but not handwritten.

We live in Germany and I mailed the packet to my mom in the US, so she could write a check for me and get a USPS tracking number. I'm wondering now if we should let her go ahead and mail it or hand write two more letters of intent and have her include them.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

How come???

We typed ours and we signed them with blue pen. That what everyone is doing. Maybe you forget to sign them or something. Or they are not satisfied with the content or the context of the letter.

There is a note on top of our RFE that goes like this :

  • "All foreign language documents must be submitted with complete word-for-word English translation. The translator must certify that the translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is competent to translate. Do not submit the English translation without the foreign language document."

Question: I am a Filipino and English is like our second language. I don't have any documents submitted to USCIS that is in any other language. Should i write my written statement in our own language and have it translated into English?

Here's a brief background about me and my fiance.

Jeff, my fiance (the petitioner) and I (beneficiary) are both Filipinos. We've been together (2005) long before he migrated to the US in the year 2007 (thru his father) We have two children. One born before he went to the US and one conceived during his vacation here. He's a US citizen now. He had his oath of naturalization last year (2013). He filed I-130 for our kids and I-129f for me. The last time we've been together was in the year 2011.

Our RFE:

  • Circumstances of meeting
  • Last Personal Meeting

Question:

When my fiance filed the I-129f we included a statement on how we met and stated the times we've been together (his vacations). And this was supported with his passport stamps, airline tickets and boarding passes, photos, letter of intent (both of us) I don't understand why they would ask for this again. What can we send back to CSC to answer this RFE. I'm losing confidence with this. Do you have any suggestion on what else can we send them as a primary evidence?

Any response would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

According to your timeline, you sent the I-129F petition on the 24th of February of 2014. That means that you had to prove evidence of Meeting in Person after 24th of February of 2012. If you say that the last time you were together was in 2011, then you may have not met the criteria for Meeting in Person within the 2 years prior to filling the 1-129F petition.

It does seem that that is what they're asking.

Yes we came to that conclusion. We'll deal in proving the extreme hardship on my fiance's side. We'll just have our fingers crossed.
