yes after we submitted the requested RFE , I received the approval in less than a week !!!!

They received my RFE on November 13th. They wanted to know our intent to marry within 90 days and what State we were going to marry (marriage equality). Our original filing was received July 23, 2013. How long from the time they review the RFE until it's approved? I am new to this forum so please bear with me! content.gifcontent.gif

Well we've already got an NOA1, but I am thinking we will PROBABLY get an RFE for the following:

-I believe we filled in employment section incorrectly (just stated each job, didn't write the periods of unemployment as i assumed any gaps in employment would have been considered unemployment, but i've seen that you need to actually write it in)

-Another thing that worried me was I was SUPPOSED to start my new job in October, and while waiting to start, we mailed off our I-129f, but it turned out my boss doesn't want me to start yet. However I inquired about this in my thread and was told that I filled out my G-325a to the best of my knowledge at the time, so I should be fine! (I hope ^^)

-We took our own 'passport style photo' following the guidelines for the US passport website instead of professional ones. I know this is allowed, but I think our own photos may not be good enough/wrong size/bad lighting etc.

-Forgot the photocopy of the back of fiancé's birth certificate (the one needed to prove his US citizenship)

-I made errors on something I wrote out as a statement and because I couldn't re-print it (I don't own a printer of my own) I just corrected in pen. Hopefully this shouldn't cause an issue but i'm just putting it here for a possible reason xD

I'll let you guys know if we do get an RFE, and if it is for any of the reasons I'm worried about. And if anyone has any insight into the things I mentioned, please let me know if they are genuine reasons to worry or if I'm just being a worrier for no reason!! haha xD

Have you guys ever sent document by normal mail unregistered ? How long does it take to them to get our mail?

I'm really worry about my mail will be lost. my BF send them since November 7 and it been 2 weeks now. He called them yesterday and they said They haven't receipted our document yet.

Do u think it been too long ? Sent from North CA to South CA for more than 2 weeks.

I'm so worry and didn't know what to do. Should we wait for letter returns to my bf house or should I just go ahead sent them the new one by express mail.

Thank you for all of your response : )

I would re-send the evidence as priority mail so you can track it, and include a cover letter explaining that you have sent evidence before but after so much time passing without confirmation of receipt that you decided to re-send.

Hi Everyone!

Ok so I have a really confusing problem. I'm super sad about it. We filed through our immigration attorney on the first week of October. I received my hardcopy of the Noa1 on the 15th of Oct and on the 29th of Oct my fiancee's A# changed and that was the last update. No big deal...I'm prepared to wait. I check the uscis website once a day and the status has been and still is in initial review. ( Last update being the A# assigned on Oct 29th.)

Lo and behold I come home form work today and check my mail and I have a letter from the USCIS. Of course I freak out because I just had a weird feeling. I open it and the letter says that there was no intent to marry proof shown.. the letter said that the beneficiary and I can provide two separate affidavits affirming that we will marry within 90 days of his arrival to the US. We both wrote two affidavits of intent which was given to our attorney who prepared our packet.

I called uscis and they said that according to their update they don't have a request for an RFE but if I got a paper copy I should probably just send in whatever they want. I checked the website again and it still hasn't updated from October 29th and the letter I received today (11/22/13) was dated 11/16/13.

So, I guess the website is not always up to date and accurate?? I am not really sure what to do except respond to the RFE. Please let me know if it is normal to receive RFE's in mail and not be informed via text, email or website update.

I checked my status online. It says RFE sent on Nov 21. I will not know why for two weeks or so.

I sent copies of our passports showing that we went to Indonesia together. I sent pictures of us together, and utility bills showing that we share a residence. I think thy have plenty of evidence that we met in the last two years.

I suspect they have a problem with the fact that my beneficiary and I do not live in the USA. We only plan to marry there, but never to live there. I explained that thoroughly. I said that we will marry in the USA with her sister present. We will come back to Singapore. The USA has nothing to offer us.

Until recently I was seeking a K1 for my Burmese fiancé.

The K1 visa is for people who want to live in the US. If you don't plan on staying there, then why are applying for this type of visa?

The K1 visa is for people who want to live in the US. If you don't plan on staying there, then why are applying for this type of visa?

She has no ties to Singapore (where she resides with me). Her sister was refused a tourist visa for that reason. K1 visas have a 95% approval rate. That is how her sister succeeded. Only she stayed after she married.

There is no law requiring us to stay. There is no law stating that we must upgrade her status (unless we stay).

Once we are married she can show a tie to Sigapore (me), and we can show the $50,000 in our joint bank account. Then we can, in theory, visit all we like. But I am doubting that we will ever go back. The USA has nothing to offer.

The thing is, if you stated in the petition you have no plans on residing in the US, that may be a possibility for denial. I have no idea. But given what the visa is for and what it entails (the couple stays in the US, they marry, the fiance adjusts status), it wouldn't surprise me if you were denied.
