Hello All,

I have a question regarding primary evidence.

Recently I returned from a trip to Syria, where I was visiting my fiance.

I started getting some papers going on her end in order to get this visa process going.

One of the requirements from the Syrian Govt. was that I have some kind of proof of religion since the US Passports do not exhibit that.

So I had to write up a sworn statement to the US Embassy in Syria and swear to my religion in front of the Vice Consul.

She stamped it and signed and dated the statement.

Can a copy of that be admitted as primary evidence, as it shows I was actually in Syria during my trip?

Also, I will be providing an itinerary, pictures, as well as phone call records.

Im the kind of person that loses stuff all the time...so something like the stub of my boarding pass...i dont have.

They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

* No gaps or overlaps on timeframes for residences and employment questions for past x amount of years on the G-325A

eg

October 2005 to Present

December 2004 to October 2005

March 2004 to December 2004

June 2003 to March 2004

and so on...

(Going through this list before I mail out tomorrow!)

Sorry to kind of be asking a question in this thread, but it's just to clarify a point already made, so I hope no one minds...

To clarify-- the way you showed as an example, aussiewench, is the CORRECT way? To me, that looks like it IS overlapping (as October is listed twice) so I'm just slightly confused, and want to be sure I have it right on the paper (Mine looks like you wrote it there)

Let me ask you this. Do residences and employment begin on the 1st of every month and end the last day of a month? This is why the pattern is as above eg employment ends on 15 October 2005, new employment begins 20 October, 2005 which would seem to look like an overlap when only using month and year but it is not.

Well, that was my assumption as well (although some do end on a 30th and start on a 1st for me, but since it doesn't ask for dates, but months...), but when I read 'no overlaps' and then see overlaps by month, it seemed a bit confusing, that's all. Thanks for the clarification. Looks like I'm ready to file.

Well, I'm expecting my packet to be returned, not so much an RFE, just a incredibly stupid mistake that somehow everyone who looked over my packet missed.

While it's been said that you shouldn't postdate your check, it's worth mentioning you should also be sure to write the right month so you don't accidentally postdate it. I didn't MEAN to postdate my check but I realized just today that I somehow stupidly wrote 10/15/2006 when I meant to write 08/15/2006. Brilliant. Does anyone know where the checks normally get cashed if they were sent to Nebraska? Do I have to wait for it to get to California?

I think they get cashed in California, because that's where the NOA1 will be coming from. But I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Be sure to send in photocopies of all relevent pages of the petitioners passport, with Visa's and Entry "chops" aka stamps.

I received an RFE for all pages of my passport.

That mistake cost an unknown amount of time.

Too much documentation, is better than not enough.
