I have a question.

I've read here that one needs to send the ''long'' form of birth certificate.

As opposed to what? Is there a shorter form which they don't accept? Or the ''short'' or ''long'' form is just country specific?

We just received our NOA2, but I want to be sure that I will prepare and send the correct documents.

Your I-129f was approved in 85 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 225 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS

NOA1: 07/18/13

Biometrics: 08/13/13

EAD/AP approved: 09/17/13

AOS Interview: 10/10/13 (approved)

Some countries (e.g. UK) have both a short and long form birth certificate. For greece this does not apply, η ληξιαρχική πράξη γεννήσεως is sufficient and recommended. Πιστοποιητικό γέννησης is normally also accepted, but the first option is preferred.

IMHO, you are too stressed over the process - you have a lawyer, take it easy, sit back and relax.

You are absolutely right, but reducing my stress isn't an option. I'm an extremely stressful person.

But once again, thank you. I always appreciate your help.

:wow: Just spent a few good hours reading this thread and wanted to thank EVERYONE that has posted on here! All this information was wonderful and helped me to think of additional items to include along with my petition. I send it off tomorrow and hopefully no RFE's! :D

Response to RFE mailed on 10/13/12.

Just got email that it has been rec'd at Vermont Service Center.

Mischka & Cellas,

Thanks so much for helping with these many, many questions. This weekend we're working on the statement & ATM & CC stuff.

Enjoy the weekend. (I'll probably have a few more questions  )

The details provided instructions for the I-129F are vague when it comes to "any evidence you wish to establish your mutual intent", is there a comprehensive list or should I just comb through information people have posted?

We did call. Lady said she did not know what that meant. But since there was A-number on the form she suggested to consider it good news.

Is calling USCIS worth while? It seems that I get different answers from different helpers.

I'm a complete newcomer to all this. Just starting out on the journey. Reading the posts and people's timelines is very helpful. But abbreviations are confusing! What is an RFE? What does TOUCH mean?

Thanks, all

Anne

RFE means Request for Evidence. Its what USCIS can send you when they need more information/evidence from you regarding your application.

Your application has been touched when someone from the Service Center handles your file, checks it out of the system etc. Is you make an account at the USCIS website and check your application upon signing in, it'll tell you the date your application was last "touched"

NOA1: July 18th, 2012

Touched: July 23rd, 2012

No RFE! So Happy :)

NOA2: Jan 25th, 2013 (191 days)

Interview : 15th March 2013 APPROVED

Visa in Hand: 22nd March 2013

It takes 3 - 5 months for them to make the decission (approved/denied) but if you got RFE (Request For Evidence), it might takes longer than that. If you don't get any update from them after 5 months, you can call them.
