Also, SEND (or TAKE) prefilled copies of the G-325A with foreign fiancé(e)'s data, and ask that these be sent back to you signed (preferably in native script--which can also be used to fill the "name in native script" area) along with 2"x2" (5 cm x 5 cm) passport-type colour photos with date.

When we file the I-129F form, do we have to send in the financial information too? Do we only send the I-134A form for finantial support when we file for the K-1 visa??? \

Thanks!!!

The I-134A form comes later; it doesn't need to be sent with the I-129F form. It'll be needed for the consulate interview.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

We didn't get a RFE, but they sent our petition back because my fiance forgot sending his G325A form and because they needed us to translate my divorce paper! They took more than 2 months to tell us what was wrong! That sucked... :crying:

There are some "details" in our package that I don't know if my babe did in the right way! So, I'm praying for us not to receive an actual RFE this time! :(

make sure you sign the cheque!!! :)

This was our first mistake.

The other was "your own statement (statement made by petitioner, john ***) which must include the date place and circumstances of your meeting, and should be supported by copies of transportation tickets, photos, and or letters written to each other after your meeting.Additionally, photocopies of your and or your fiance passports, (including biographical data pages and pages showing entry/exit stamps, where applicable)showing that you both have been present in a given location at the same time may be submitted."

I had written the explanation of us meeting not him.

I haven't received an RFE yet, but I do remember someone here saying they received an RFE because he/she wrote "N/A" where he or she should have written "None". It sounds trivial, but. . . . it's worth making the distinction if failing to do so results in an RFE...

I noticed somebody asked a week or so ago if there was a list of all RFEs so people could look out for possible "boo-boos." So here we go!

My RFE reason was;

The forms we downloaded didn't tell us to add evidence of meeting in the past two years or frontal face photographs. Which is weird because we got them directly off the London Embassy site. So we got an RFE for basically the other half of what you're suppost to send origionally. We started the K-1 appliciation before we found this forum so we were kinda just going with the instructions as best as we could. We say if you're just starting the I-129F download it from VJ...they seem to have the right instructions....

hi lady and gentleman

I can not have a checking account, so my Mom gave me a check of 170 in her name to pay for BCIS. Is that ok it is not my check?

Try posting this in the main K-1 forum in a seperate thread. That way you will get the response you are after. This is a thread for RFE's and you may not get an answer.

You can find me on FBI

if your fiance(e) never had a passport, make sure he/she gets one early on in the process - I didn't realize he needed the passport just to apply for the visa, and now it's holding up the process waiting for it.

RE: Divorce Decree

All pages should be submitted not just the 1st page.

Fiance sent the 1st page only and we received this RFE.

also don't forget to check if it has the judge's signature... we sent the whole thing and got a RFE because he didn't notice it was missing.

We got a RFE because my fiance didn't send in enough proof of our meeting - he had to send in more evidence! It's not enough just to fill out the form and say 'we met on X date' - you have to provide photos too :) And then he got another RFE because they needed more financial information from him. Combined the two held us up for three months which seemed like an eternity but wasn't really a big deal.

what do you mean you had to send in financial information for the first step. I thought the financial part was for the interview and then later when change of status

4/28/06 sent I-129 package to NSC

5/1/06 NOA1

6/10/06 case transferred from NSC to CSC

9/1/06 touched - email NOA2 - approved!

9/21/06 NVC letter stating package sent to Caracas

10/5/06 & 10/14/06 DHL website confirms CCS rec'd packages (hopefully one of them was mine)

12/10/06 Interview - passed

1/5/07 arrival to US

1/27/07 marriage

putting together AOS package - confused about medical - translated personal immunization record myself, went to ACS, paid fee, got documents in a sealed envelope "DO NOT OPEN"

3/26/07 mailed AOS & EAD to PO BOX

3/28/07 delivered

4/23/07 Biometrics

Tips

* Look at evidence of having met within the required 2 year period from the view of a third person. In other words 'I know it to be fact but will the adjudicator know from the evidence I have submitted'. Concentrate on providing strong overall evidence to support the fact, as opposed to an abundance of relationship evidence. Distinguish between the two.

* No gaps or overlaps on timeframes for residences and employment questions for past x amount of years on the G-325A

eg

October 2005 to Present

December 2004 to October 2005

March 2004 to December 2004

June 2003 to March 2004

and so on...

For the first 2 years of the 5 years (employment) in question, my fiance worked abroad in Spain. It is difficult to obtain record of work as the company went into liquidation. Would it be possible therefore to just state "Unemployed" for those 2 years?

Cheers

Sacha

2nd March 2006 - I-129F Sent

17th August 2006 - NOA2 finally!!!

11th September 2006 - Package 3 sent to US Consulate (DS-230 part 1, DS-156, DS-156K)

8th October 2006 - Sent checklist to Consulate to confirm that all documents are available for interview

13th October 2006 - Medical (11:30am) - Friday 13th Aaaaaaaaaargh!!!

7th December 2006 - Interview at 10am

7th December 2006 - Consular requested "Proof of non-existence of birth certificate"

15th December 2006 - Courier picked up "Proof of non existence of birth certficate" - what I did? I contacted my lawyer in Vietnam and asked him to search for my NON-EXISTENCE birth certificate and had him write an affidavit of his finding. What a waste of time and money!!
