Greetings. I feel your pain as I received an RFE for lack of evidence of meeting in April. First, as to how long the NOA2 takes after filing a response: In my case I received the RFE on a Tuesday, collected evidence and mailed back USPS Express on Wednesday, it was received back at the CSC on Thursday and I had the NOA2 on Monday. Six days including a weekend. Not bad.

As to what constitutes "evidence" you can forget photos, e-mails, text messages and the like. Those items may count as evidence of having an on-going relationship but aren't worth the paper they're own as evidence of meeting. Reading from the RFE: Primary evidence may include, copies of passport pages that show the identification page and admission stamps, [their underline!] airline ticket stubs, and receipts (that indicate month, day, and year) or any evidence that will help the USCIS determine that the petitioner has met the beneficiary within the two years.

Secondary evidence may include film-dated photographs... (forget it as evidence, but I would include a few just to show you know each other) The following DOES NOT [again, their caps] constitute evidence: itineraries, disc, videos, emails, letters, phone bills, phone cards, and greeting cards.

In my RFE answer I used color copies of my passport (every page, highlighting the Ukraine stamsp) showing entry and exit visas to the Ukraine and also airline ticket stubs (boarding cards) showing the date and my name.

If you are going to/from Canada and don't have visa stamps that is a problem. Can you ask for them at a border crossing? I never thought to try. I would get those if possible. If not, I would include information that shows names and dates. Hotel bills with both names and the date and address, ATM withdrawals would be good. Credit card receipts in the country might also be good. Really the more the better (I sent 37 pages of supplemental data!) and include a letter why you don't have the entry stamps and/or airline ticket stubs.

Good Luck! ~Casper

Nah... I'm sorry I don't agree. Itineraries it's a good proof, primary evidence. Photos are requiered too. A good friend of mine was approved with just a dated photo album and some translated and notarized emails.(California Service Center). Along with boarding passes, passport stamps, receipts, itineraries, train tickets und so weiter und so vor... photos are important. As VisaJourney advices in the 'Step-by-step guide', all of the above are veeery useful. Sure, you'll mostly count on your boarding passes, passport stamps, atm withdrawls and other receipts, but they do consider your photos as well.

Oh, and btw, I think my friend was ok with that little because they(beneficiary and petitioner) were both from the same country. In my opinion, it usually makes the case easier.

FYI everybody....thats all i have iterinary, hotel reciepts, and pictures, however they (RFE) me for lack of proof of meeting, they said either passport stamp(highlighting qualifying dates)or boarding passes are valid. i dont have boarding passes or tickets. but i have passport stamping. thats basicly what they ask for, either those 2.I guess anybody can print out iterinaries, but you cant fake out passport stamps or used boarding passes. like I said it depends who handle your application, not all of them has the same strickness, some of us are lucky, some are almost lucky. but its better safe than sorry or being delayed on your petition like wat happened to us. send as much as you can, its only a few cents for making copies....were approved on 5/12/2010 after i sent my colored passport copies on 5/04/2010 highlighting all qualifying dates.

you should be fine with passport stamps, that`s what we sent too(dont have boarding passes either). You`re right about intineraries, even if u have a real intinerary that doesnt necessarily prove you took the flight there while the boarding pass does!

Good luck!

Well, I agree passport stamps and boarding passes are the most important, but you should also send any other evidence. On the previous page I posted those things I've seen people sending, by reading this thread entirely you'll know what to send or what evidence to collect if you're going to see each other again before filing the petition. Like you said, better safe than sorry.

Just... send as much as you please.

P.S.: IMO> Boarding passes, passport stamps and itineraries go together. If you have an itinerary, it's a good idea to support it with boarding passes and passport stamps. :P

Your guess is good as mine, VSC is kind a slower, they even have to send some application to CSC to help them out!!! lucky for those guys(check it out on some of the forum that they said there case was forwarded to CSC from VSC without notifying them), CSC is flying fast now, however RFE is flying a lot too hehehe most of us has NOA1 on 03/15/2010 get hit with RFE, maybe its the same strick person, there just doing there job properly....However I did sent my RFE express mail, to speed it up, showing them intent to get it approved faster.

Yeah, I sent it back the same day I got it in next-day air and everything but apparently they didn't care either way. Just hope we get approved soon, this is getting a little ridiculous.

I got an RFE (see timeline) asking for

-two letters of intent. (I had sent in two perfectly good letters of intent.)

-two passport photos. (Had no idea I needed them, but now I sent two of each of us, just to be sure).

-Request for our circumstances of meeting and our last personal meeting.

For this last one I sent passport stamps, rent receipts (I live here), a bank statement with my address, ten beautiful photos of my fiancee and I all over Peru, other receipts, and a copy of my Residence Card (Carné). I didn't really get any of it translated. I also wrote a letter explaining how we me, and meet, every day.

Interestingly, We didn't sign the Biographicals G325 or w/e they are called. The signature blank is hidden away, but they didn't request that. I also only sent 3 pages out of my divorce decree and that was apparently not a problem either.

Suffice to say there is a lot I didn't know when I started this process. There still seems to be a lot I don't know.

Our RFE has still not helped our petition at all. I have Congress involved on the case, whenever they can get motivated to do it, anyway. This is just completely stupid now. I've seen petitions get approved within days of receiving the response and it's almost been a month now. There was a February filer who had an RFE a week after me and they got approved weeks ago. Aughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. My disdain for Vermont is palpable at this point.
