hi everyone :)

i just received the noa1 via text and e-mail. but i have this strong feeling that i would get an RFE. just because i have mistakenly put some sort of dumb answer on the "place of issuance" of the certificate of citizenship. i put USA, which is really obvious to everyone that the certification of citizenship is issued inside the territories of the US. so i knew in the first place that i must put the city of the place of issuance but i was so dumb still to write USA. so now i have this big feeling that i would get an RFE anytime soon. i am just preparing for the worst.

so my question is, how many weeks would they send out the RFE right after the noa1?

would they send it via e-mail or in the mail (snail mail)?

thank you so much!

There's no way of knowing when you'll get it. Your application won't be touched again until they are ready to process it. So, the next thing you're going to get is either the NOA2 OR the RFE. You're at CSC, and the applications have usually been processed between 6-8 weeks (for now). So, whether you're getting and RFE or an approval, you can count on at least 6-8 weeks before you'll know. If you have your notifications on, you should get an email/text once they touch it again, but you won't know what the RFE is for (if you get one) until you get the paper copy in the mail like a week or so after they issue it.

Good luck!

Like Shelly said you won't know until they either send you the NOA2 or the RFE. Count your blessing that you are at the CSC, processing times right now are about 42 days and possibly going up from there. I received an RFE, I don't know for what yet since I was very thorough but when I find out I will post it here. Also I didn't receive a text for my RFE, though I did get an email and of course and a USCIS case status update. An RFE is not the worst thing in the world, since it means that atleast your file is tucked away nicely on the officers desk for an easy approval once you get the information they requested back. Godspeed!!

thank you so much for your output... i would just probably wait for the RFE. and just wait for the mail. i would probably wait for about 2 months or so to maybe more. but i will just keep my hopes up. thank you again. and please do keep me or us posted why you have an RFE once it arrive in the mail. thank you again!

God bless!

Morning all!

Just wanted to update...A while ago, I posted this question (below) re: scanned signature vs. original (ink) signature. I got my NOA2 last night, even though I used scanned signature for my fiance's G325A and letter of intent (at the time I didn't know it "had to" be original signatures).

**Disclaimer** (lol) I'm not saying this will happen for everyone. I might have just been lucky. So, if you can get the original signature, definitely do that! (It's not worth it to sit here and drive yourself crazy for weeks wondering if you will get an RFE or not lol).

Good luck everyone!!

Hi All, :help:

I apologize if this was previously discussed in this chat (too many pages to go through to see hehe).

Does anyone know if an RFE may be issued for the following: G325A and Fiance letter of intent were both signed by my fiance who lives in Brazil...However, he signed them and then scanned/emailed me the signed copy and I printed it out and that's what I submitted (instead of waiting weeks to get the actual signed copies in the mail).

Does it matter that it's not an actual "ink" signature on those pages? It is his actual signature, just scanned instead of the original copy submitted.

Thanks everyone! :luv:

Two quick questions:

1:How long does it normally take to receive the RFE hard copy?

2: How long does it generally take for it to be approved?

I wish this site had some RFE statistics, such as average days from RFE received by USCIS to NOA2. That'd be cool.

Well I could see that be an RFE for me in the future too as I met my fiance online as well. I believe I just put we met online June 1st, 2010 then started our relationship March 20th, 2013, met in person on May 21st, 2013, and then listed the like dates and time ranges of all the times he's visted (like six or seven times).

Did you just have to send another letter in attesting as to where online you met your fiance?

That's exactly what we did. And sent it back overnight express.

Got the approval on June 9! Good luck with yours. :)

I hear you. Just our experience but maybe the info will help you a little.

USCIS website said they sent our RFE on 5/27/15. I had been waiting for the NOA2 but didn't check the status until 5/30, when I was trying to figure out why it hadn't already come. Got the RFE notice in the mail 6/1.

I sent back what they asked for on 6/3 by overnight express. They received it 6/4 before noon. We got approval on 6/9... so 5 days for us. Very happy there wasn't more delay!

Okay all got my RFE just now in the mail. It's post marked June 12th and I already got in Florida!! The RFE is for the following:

"Please re-submit a passport-style color photograph for the petitioner XXXXX."

And then it goes on to list all the requirements of the photograph. I originally sent a photograph but I guess it didn't meet all the specifications. At least its a simple fix for us.

I just overnighted my RFE response, it will be there tomorrow and hopefully a quick approval now!

For anyone that a got a recent RFE, did it have the beneficiary's A# on the top right hand corner? Mine did.

Hello VJ,

This is my first post.

I met my fiancee in my hometown Victoria, BC, and we started a relationship there, she got an internship in NYC a few months after we met, and then they hired her.

I was using ***removed*** (which I found confusing) before I filed our I-129F. In hindsight I wish I had come across the VJ guide.

We missed quite a few important things, and received a NOID.

Things we missed: (This is a bit embarrassing haha)

•Copy of Her US Birth Certificate

•We need to each send in G-325A (The way I read it on ***removed*** was that it was optional)

•Passport Photos for each of us

•Intent to Marry Letter

•Circumstances of Meeting (We met online, and a couple days after went for coffee, and hit it off right away, we kept this brief)

•Last Personal Meeting (The NOID says: Submit evidence of meeting the beneficeiary in person within the two year period preceding the filing of the petition. Primary evidence may include a written statement from the petitioner or the beneficiary stating that they have met in person and containing details of the date and circumstances of their meeting, passport stamps, airline ticket stubs, Photos (secondary)

Unfortunately I got a new passport right after the trip because it expired within 6 months and the border told me to get a new one, and I didn't think the old one would be needed so I didn't check the option to keep it. I also didn't keep any boarding passes.

I do however have Visa Statements with nearly 20 purchases in New York and Brooklyn where I visited my fiancee. I also have pictures of us dated from the trip in different recognizable places such as the Brooklyn Bridge. I also have itinerary and receipts from flight purchase (I actually won the flight from my staff party with my fiancee attending, so I just had to pay the fees, I made a note that I won the plane tickets for USCIS). I also have photos with us and my family for christmas, and a photo of us and her mom.

The questions I have are:

Should I write a reason as to why I don't have passport stamps somewhere in the documentation or just leave that out?

Should I write the website we met online at? I'd rather keep that private.

We have until Jun 27 to reply to the NOID which is a bit stressful.

Thanks

TrufflePiggy

No experience with your first question but my gut answer would be give them the info about why you don't have the passport stamps to show.

We DO have experience with your second question, and we got an RFE because we did not provide that at first. You definitely need to tell them the name (provide the URL) of the site where you met. I'm sure they've seen it all so I wouldn't worry about it. :)

Oh my God, you are so lucky!! According to USCIS they got our RFE 5/28 and we are still waiting for NOA2...:-(

Maybe it went quickly because I spammed them with info? :) I sent a 2 page letter with the URL of the site where we met, and all the other sites where we hung out together. Plus how the relationship developed before we met in person, and then more info on both face-to-face visits and how we got engaged. And then to top it all off, I sent them photocopies of ALL the pages in his passport, because we had not sent them all pages before-- we sent just the pages that had been stamped. That was an oversight, and I just wanted to head off any potential problems from that!
