USCIS gave my fiance some extra questions about criminal records (violence and stuff). And they asked to fill out our petition where is "if your fiance currently in the USA..." but I am not. And arrival/departure number of I-94 form, which I do not have anymore. In airport they took away this form from me. Now we have to call them and explain that I am not in the USA.

Hello,

Does anyone know typically how long it takes to receive the hard copy of the RFE letter? I received a text on 11/22 stating that I received an RFE however I have not received the copy yet. I find it strange because I'm a csc filer and I live in Las Vegas...which is close and I wouldn't think it would take almost 2 weeks to receive the letter...or maybe I'm wrong??

Hi!

We had the same situation last week. We received an RFE on 20th November and my fiance lives in San Jose area, which is 8 hours to drive and it took 10 days USPS to deliver the letter. Anyway you should wait for one month just to request a copy again to your address. If you do not want to wait, people suggest to take Infopass and ask USCIS personally which evidences do they want. Hope you will get your copy soon. Good luck!

10 days? That's ridiculous. I checked my mailbox today...still nothing. If I make an info pass appointment will they be able to tell me what the RFE is for and what info they need?

Have you ever tried to get it online?

https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

Just add your Passport number and personal info (Sometimes they use your middle name and last name as the last name, so don't get surprised if you have two different records with one passport!).

Hope it helps!

We did not use Infopass,we were going to, but letter came first, hope you will have the same. I am registered on another forum and people there suggested me to take Infopass and they told me that USCIS will tell me the information regarding RFE. I dot not exactly know. You better to call USCIS and find out.

Hello,

I found out there is RFE master list forum in here just recently and I need some advice. We got our RFE on Oct 15th and sent documents back on Oct 31st. Ever since then, we still have not heard of any update from them. In USCIS case status site, it still shows that "RFE was mailed" on Oct 15th. My fiance finally called USCIS last Monday on Dec 1st asking for update. They said they received our and document and that was about it. I've been checking the status online almost every single day (which I probably shouldn't) and it is not changing to something like "RFE received" or "Review"... How long will this take? It is already December... I am so worried because the RFE was asking about his past criminal record like DUIs. I need someone to talk to, this is stressing me out. Does it usually take so long? T_T

Hi everyone...we got notice of our RFE from TSC on 11/12 (June filer!), received the hard copy, fixed what was requested (missed the section of questions about criminal convictions as I thought it was for military only - stupid mistake on my part, I know). Anyway - we got notice on 11/20 that they received our RFE and that we would get a decision by 1/19/15. What should I be looking for next? RFE Review notification? Or would it go straight to approval?

Does it usually take the full time? I'm just so afraid that our application will be looked over or even lost because I made a stupid mistake and forgot to mark a couple of questions. I've seen some people get their NOA2's so quickly after responding to their RFEs - days even! - and I'm just feeling anxious/helpless/you know the feelings if you've been/are in this situation.

Any insight at all about how USCIS receives RFEs would be so appreciated. Or even your experience after you submitted yours. Thank you!

I mailed back our RFE on 11/18 (I overnighted it and requested someone sign for it at the post office when it was picked up) and I got an email on 11/20 saying they received the RFE and the USCIS would resume processing it. I also logged into my USCIS account and saw that it had been updated that way. Do you have an account on the site? Maybe you just missed the email and they received it? If not, I would call them and make sure they got it.

I missed the same exact set of questions on my application. I received notification RFE 9/4, received the hard copy 9/11, mailed back 9/12 and received NOA 2 on 9/29.

I literally, LITERALLY, just got an email saying that they approved our i-129f petition!!!!! So 19 days from when they received our RFE to NOA2. Thank you so much!!!

And your interview is in 12 days!! That is so exciting!!! Crossing my fingers that everything goes smoothly for you :)

Hello the Andies,

My fiance called USCIS on 12/01 to check with someone from USCIS and they said the received it. But ever since then, the status is not changing at USCIS website. As long as they said they got our documents, it is ok right? But I'm kinda worried that status not changing and also not receiving any form of notification from them. As long as USCIS said they got it, we should be hearing something soon right? So worried. We still haven't heard of anything from Oct 31. >n<
