hi

you can't you have a GC, you're a resident. the NOA1 is an extension for 1 year to your GC, the letter plus your GC will allow you to travel and work until you get your 10 year card

the B tourist/business visa is for non residents who want to travel to the US

Yes, I am a resident of India. My wife stays in the USA. It is about 3 months we have received our NOA1 for the CR1 application. I want to visit my spouse in the US for 2 weeks for a family get-together. I think I have read post on a similar topic and a reply to it stated one can apply but the application may be rejected a the individual is intending to immigrate to the US.

Thanks for your patients,

Gajanan

He doesn't have a greencard. He has begun the application process.

In any event you can apply but it is probably going to be a waste of money.

Yes you can apply it will have no bearing or negative effect on your I-130 petition. It doesn't hurt to apply and who knows you may get blessed and approved to visit.

Now you say Business Pleasure. Well they are two different Visa's. Business is hard to get. Of course so is a Tourist visa. Just show your strong strong ties to India how you will be returning because you have a interview to come back to you know all that stuff to convince them you will return. Go for it.

The options on the visa application site has the following type of visitor visa under the category Temp. Business Pleasure visitor (B)

1] Business and Tourism (temporary visitor) B1/B2

2] Business Conference (B1)

3] Tourism and Medical Treatment (B2)

So it is either 1] or 3]

For me its for pleasure and tourism so it has to be option 1] of the list.

Please correct if I am wrong.

Thanks again

Gajanan
