Hi folks,

my wife came to USA three months ago on K-3 visa and she is scheduled for adjustment of status interveiw in the beginning of January, 07. We have received her full vaccination supplement from the civil surgeon except Tetanus shot as she is pregnant. At the end of the vaccination supplement Form the doctor has checked that ' she may be eligible for blanket waiver'.

Do you guys know whether or not the USCIS will accept this supplement form or what?

I hope they dont hold her case untill she gets the tetanus shot which means after giving birth to baby in July. Has any one been in this situation and if yes how was your experience?

appreciate your sharing of thought

I think you should be fine since she can't have the shot right now.

Mine also says eligible for blanket waiver 'cus my history is not complete 'cus I'm not age appropriate for some of the shots, although I have all the ones I could have taken. It said the same thing for my K1 and it was never a problem at my interview.

Pregnancy is not a contraindication for Tetanus-Diphtheria immunization, which means she can have the immunization, so I doubt there would be any waiver for that. I have provided a link from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) with the information for you.

You could have gotten a statment from the doctor saying he didn't give her a shot so you could show it at the interview. But I think the worst that can happen is that they approve you pending medical records.

I had had all of my immunizations or else had the actual illnesses as a child or was age/time of year exempt. I too had the statement ' may qualify for a blanket waiver' on my vaccination worksheet. I did not submit the vaccination supplement with my AOS, planning on bringing it to the interview. I did not receive a request for the supplement and my AOS was approved without interview, the vaccination worksheet being the only document they had for my immunization record. I think the blanket waiver means that as far as the physician is concerned your immunizations are complete and you can be waived the need for any further immunization or supporting documentation. The acceptance of the waiver, is of course, up to USCIS. If they question the tetenus shot, explain about your wife's pregnancy and that the doctor refused to give it. A tetenus shot is a good idea to have anyway, so once your child is born your wife can easily get the tetenus shot from your family physician - it is valid for 10 years. Good luck at the interview - I don't think you will have any problems because of the vaccination situation.

Thanx those who commented on my post.

We went for interveiw yesterday to buffalo. They asked two questions... 1- Do you have tax returns to which i replied i have already sumitted with my application. She said Oh , ok. 2- are we still at the same address to which i said yes.

and then she said you guys are all set. She stamped our passport and told us that we will get our green card between 1-2 weeks. This morning we got a wellcome email.

she did not give a damn to any original document or vaccination supplement. I truly beleive that these USCIS folks are very nice and courteous. If you are a law abiding citizen then you should not worry for nothing.
