"Highest fraud ratio"?

Hi,

Just curious after reading a few posts - how do you guys know what countries are considered "high fraud ratio" or whatever? What's that based on? How come they (USCIS) are nicer to some (racism?) than others?

I feel there are a lot of people from various countries that try to trick their way into the country, so what is this ratio based on?

Again, just curious.

I believe the idea is that the chance of marriage fraud just to get a green card is higher in some countries than in others. They actually have a list on the USCIS website, I believe. (I'll look it up for you and post it.) Americans who marry people from those countries face added scrutiny in comparison to those who come from low fraud countries. I'm fairly sure it's not racism, though.

Dear Kaylara - yes it is racism...subtle but real.

one of the first illegal immigrants I met in the US was a English girl - unlike illegal Mexicans she was eventually able to sort herself out because the US isn't worried about her. if the US didn't make it so difficult for the non-western Europeans to obtain visas, then half of them wouldn't resort to desperate actions.

it would be interesting to find out how many K-1 marriages from vwp countries actually last beyond 2 years versus CR-1 marriages from non-vwp countries.

just saying.

Only one that should be concerned about fraud, is you, the sponsoring US citizen, but not limited to immigration, certainly enough gold diggers in this country that will be as sweet as pie until you tie the knot, then take you to the cleaners.

Ha, if I didn't learn anything, one thing I did, they are impatient and push you into that marriage. Often made the comment, if they read the divorce laws of your state, no one would be dumb enough to sign that marriage contract. If you can maintain an argument free relationship for two years and work together as a team to solve all of your problems. Odds are high in your favor you will have something that will last.

To me the biggest joke in the world is that I-751 form just loaded with loopholes for an immigrant to commit fraud. And if a victim of it, don't expect help from the USCIS, but expect to support that person for the next ten years with that I-864 at 125% of the poverty level.

What is fraud anyway?

Is that when a person will marry anyone to come here, but when after coming here, refuses to pay taxes together?

What about marriage fraud here, meet someone that is as sweet as can be, then takes you to divorce court so they can legally rob you to death. Its no wonder why 50% of marriages end up in a divorce court.

Its nice to see Nigeria not as public enemy number one. Now maybe the jokes will stop. Hey we are not #1 (doubt if we ever was).

That is a list of cases sent to the fraud prevention investigator not the count of fraud cases. Nigeria kicks a lot of cases back without the formal investigation. These were not counted in the list provided. If you read the article you note

33 The other six countries among State’s 2005 Fraud Ranking included: Bangladesh, El
Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nigeria, and the Philippines.
Just because Nigeria doesn't use investigations as much as the named countries does not mean it isn't high fraud.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Jamaica is not on list of marriage frauds, theirs are for phony

inflated bank statements and higher wages than they make..DR

is highest in Islands for marriage frauds that's why petitioners

have to be at the interview or reschedule if they cant make it.

Third world country ppl is focused on in immigration due to habits

of overstays , taking jobs illegally and a small percentage of criminals

among them, but the same goes for Europe and Asia, its partial racism

and part these ppls fault by behaviors...why do vwp ppl overstay even

that the facts exists they can come and go easily?. People are just ppl

from everywhere some good some bad, but we are condition in many

ways also the media to demonize some ppl...and many foolishly believe

what they read is gospel, while others just have their own prejudices.
