The thing is I imagine the vast majority of the moderator attention is focussed on the the P&R area, which is the area of least relevance to the purpose of the site. I imagine that even the craziest folks on here keep their issues confined to that area and away from the upper forums. It's not really worth moderating this stuff - either let people put up whatever they want, no matter how offensive, or start more aggressively limiting what can be discussed.

The thing is I imagine the vast majority of the moderator attention is focussed on the the P&R area, which is the area of least relevance to the purpose of the site. Yes, because when you bring up current events, politics, religion, sexuality, and race will always be in the forefront. There's no place for it in the other forums. I used to make my home in the Effects forum, the most drama there would be ended in about 2 pages. No insults about your lifestyle or beliefs there since it's not on the table. At best you'd get a jab about the insane age difference or maybe the woman's profession before that guy married her.

Some would go for up to 20 pages if it was serious enough or if more came in trying to help.

First of all, a lot of blacks aren't guilty. That's the myth. There are plenty of law abiding black people here, yet those get pushed back in favor of putting the spotlight on those who cut up. The fight over Jordans made the news, but the brawl in which a white woman started tasing people didn't get the same coverage. Many black people speak out about what you're talking about, you don't hear/see it because remember, you have no black friends. I have friends, family, coworkers, that actually do something about it. Teachers, community helpers, pastors that try to clean up neighborhoods. I even go down and help when I can.

If you think my numbers are wrong, then bring them out. Because you can't find the white counterpart to the cities I named. There is no where in the US white people are murdered at the rate of black people being murdered in those cities.

True, this is why I restrained myself from jumping in any thread that a certain posted by the way of maple trees.

I never said it was "completely" on Blacks and just because Black kill more of their own does not diminish these outrageous attacks on others.

Now Marvin you know I have trouble taking you serious when you start up with that "institutionalized racism" bit.....

especially when blacks are in worse shape in the places where Black run the institutions!!!

I mean Historically Black colleges are not exactly putting out MIT level grads.

And Birmingham is not the mecca of prosperity for Blacks...

and when we think of the most homogenous city in the nation, Detroit which was a once great (and white) city brought to it knees......

We don't see Black flourishing once the yoke of those old Institutions are gone.

The good news is, Blacks are in a country where the vast majority of people wish to see them succeed .... as many have. The bad news is, there is a serious growing racial and violent tea brewing.

The question to ask, and noone ever seems to want to, is why the economic scales appear to be heavily loaded against black Americans. Why is this? Why is it that blacks are statistically more likely to experience poverty?

Does noone think that this just might be a historical legacy? Does noone think that the economic disparity might manifest itself in terms of criminal behaviour?

I would also lay responsibility at the feet of Democrats for their gerrymandering of electoral districts to ensure minority representation, so instutionalising a form of political segregation. The way things are going with the increasing political divisiveness in this country, I see this as an ongoing and worsening problem, with little prospect of being remedied any time soon.

I would say that neither of the political parties have shown much interest in the impoverished. The black vote can be quantified, the Republicans don't need it and the Democrats know they can count on it without having to do a whole lot. It's a failure of domestic policy going back many decades.
