where do I go from here please help

Hello Vjs. I checked our case status this morning and it states ready, immediately I called DOS and they told me that they got confirmation already from lagos embassy on the 23rd of Dec that they received it. We already filled the ds-160 form. But we have not received any packet 3 from lagos embassy nor information in my fiancee email to go and book her interview appointment. My Questions are: 1. can we go ahead and book interview date or wait for lagos consulate update on our case.

2. This second question got me confused.. I don't know if I am to go to the embassy with my fiancee visa fee or go to "Gtb" a bank and pay to get my receipt to book for my interview online because I saw on the travel docs website that with the exception of k1 visa who should come to the embassy with their fees, all other non immigrants are to pay to Guaranteed trust Bank. my case is a fiancee visa case. Please help me out Dear Vjs.

When you called DOS or NVC did you get your case#? You pay visa fee at GTB bank. Once you get case# you email the embassy with case# and beneficiary's name in subjectline asking for next steps. They will send packet but all you have to do is go to embassy website and get all the forma and information you need to get ahead of it all.

You said DOS said they just got your petition at embassy yesterday it will be a bit if you wait around on them. be proactive,

After you pay Visa fee you can go online and book interview. Than gathering your documents and after book interview you can go do your medical.

Yes dwheels. I did get my case number and the DoS representative that spoke with me told me that they already received it at lagos consulate on the 23rd of this month. I called lagos consulate directly this morning as I woke up just to find out if they got my casefile. Thankfully someone answered me but she told me that lagos was almost closing as at the time I called them and that I should please call back on monday. But other than the Ds 160 form I filled I couldn't just find my way around everyother thing else. Thanks so much for your response dwheels.

Yes Dhweels hit it on the nail,but also start getting docs like police report,birth cert,divorce decree,w2 and tax transcripts,phone records,chat logs,emails,pictures of you guys and pictures with family....our interview date is jan 7...pls include us in your prayers....i shall be there to support her.

Dwheels this just crossed my mind. Does it matter if I only have two photos that show myself with her parents while she doesn't have any photos at all with my parents but she has meet my parents twice? Moreso she is going to visit my parents in lagos while going for her medicals and police report. Should she take pix with my parents as evidence even though I am not present with her right now?

She doesn't have to do her police report in Lagos as an fyi. The picture with your parents is good in my opinion.

Mr Gowon thanks so much. This is my first time hearing that she can do her police report anywhere apart from lagos. I thought she has to do it at alagbon police head quarters lagos. She is from Abeokuta though. So now I can tell her to do it in abeokuta. And please may I ask this. Does she need to download anyform to go with for the police report at the headquarters in abeokuta? What you'll have to do is go to the state headquarter in Abeokuta. We did ours, and many others, in Iyaganku in Ibadan. They charged us and everybody else so far N5k. What they do is collect all the forms and stuff and send it to Alagbon. You will then return to pick it up in about 5 days and it will have the Alagbon stamp.

Others have reported paying only N3 to N5k at Alagbon getting it in an hour or so but my Wife and I don't really like Lagos that much so we do everything that we can in Ibadan. It's also good to share some of that immigration loot with our local economy. Abi na only Lagos people get pickin for home to feed? lol

Even though I sent a prefilled form out to my Wife, they did have the forms there. You'll be surprised at how much they know about the immigration process. Na our people we they talk about.

Mrs. Gowon said a week but this might be due to her planning her schedule from Ibadan.

We used Children Hospital both times. Don't bother getting shots ahead of time to save money, they'll still charge you and give you the shots anyways = naija tinzs.

Nice! Thanks Mr Gowon. Was initially thinking it will take like 2 weeks. If I understand you clearly do you mean I have to be present with her to give her support during the interview? Infact to tell you the truth I am in the us navy. And I just got to Virginia yesterday for my duty. With what I started hearing from them sef is giving me a concern.. they said we are moving around in march and we are stationing in spain for 3years from June. then I told them about my fiancee's case that it is something I filed since sept and that I didn't just file for her and I can't cancel it for that reason. I have invested a lot to it, time, money and even promise to her and I was always carrying her parents along. But they gave me a comfort that things will be fine that I should meet with the Admin by monday. They even told me to hurry things up so she can go with me to spain. I had to tell them immigration has it's own rule likewise us navy. But was told the admin can give me a good support and answer by monday. So in my own view I am not sure if I can make it by march for her interview even though it well help her so well.
