I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here. To say the least, it has been a very valuable source of information and experiences.

To add my own recent experience at St. Lukes, my loved one had the dreaded sputum/culture experience back in October, and received her negative result on Dec 27. At that time, St. Lukes was able to schedule the new embassy appointment for us on January 14 (specified as Visa Priority: SLEC). Hopefully anyone else who is waiting for this type of result can relax a bit more, knowing that they will create a new appointment for you, which can be a lot sooner compared to doing it yourself. From all my searches here, it just wasn't clear to me that they would be assisting us, so it is good to have this information out there.

In the last few weeks I noticed that if you wanted to schedule the appointment yourself, either no availability exists or it was mid-April, which is just crazy and unrealistic. Prior to having St. Lukes schedule the new appointment, I have been very nervous about this, not knowing the dates to plan for, thinking what IF we had to wait until April and have another medical. It's terrible how the NVC delayed us needlessly for how many extra weeks, then to have a 2 month medical delay, and finally to think of several months delay for an embassy appointment--all of this is just too much to bear, but forced to endure.

For whatever reason, it was easy to find a nearby date before the recent typhoon. When I had to cancel the October embassy appointment due to the medical delay, I didn't know if I would have to schedule it myself later on. The embassy information was vague, referring to the results at St. Lukes, and St. Lukes was not helpful until recently to know this, and my congressional representative was ready to help, but they also sound uninformed about how any of this works.

Question

Lets say you grab the soonest date offered. Then upon checking regularly can you amend your interview to

the sooner date. I suppose you will be required to cancel the later date first and then reschedule to the more

current date -- of course you risk loosing on both dates if some one slides in before you book.

It sounds like you cannot reschedule from what I am reading

I can reschedule twice. I already cancelled my first appointment.

St. Lukes will be the one to reschedule, and I hope they can find a slot sooner

Oops sorry Jen90, I was using my iPhone when I posted that and it was for a different poster who's scared to lose their older slot if they rescheduled and couldn't do it fast enough. Must've got mixed up LOL. I feel for you in getting delayed, it's really heartbreaking for the two of you but just keep hopeful and optimistic and hopefully, things will get processed much sooner than you think :)

I saw a thread that January and February are open for interview

Yes we took 21st February. Could have done 24 January but we are still waiting on police report from Bahrain, and medical and shots need to be done.

All that's necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good men to do nothing. - Edmund Burke
