Hello everyone!!

I am back after a long gap. So much has happened during this period. I arrived on 29th November in US. immigration formalities took hardly some time. I was out within less than an hour after my arrival at JFK. We had gone to Social Security office on 9th Dec in Huntington, Long Island area. I had carried my passport & I-94 form which I downloaded from the net plus duly filled form for applying social security card. Wait time was longer than the actual submission. The lady asked me few questions & thats it. To my surprise I received my Social security Card on on 13th Dec. So one step forewrd.

We also have taken marriage licence from Huntington Town Cleark's office on 23rd Dec. Along with the marriage licence they gave us a list of authorised persons who can get us married. Most of them are retired court judges. We got the appointment on Sunday the 29th Dec... We are getting married on that day!!!!!

Could you clarify for me?????? You took the actual I94 OR you took the printout with the data from the I94 (not the document) to the SS office?

There is no more paper i-94 attached to your passport upon entry (as of May 2013, i believe). Also SSA offices do not require you to present it when applying for SSN. However its a good idea to have it with you just in case.

I did, but she returned it. I think they have the information online

I agree with Egor & Arti
