Wait about a week from your notification USCIS and begin calling the NVC to get your MNL #. I found the best time to call NVC is at 7:05 am as they will usually pickup on the first or second ring. Once you have the number then you can begin to pay and schedule the interview. Follow this link to Hank's handy dandy guide. It will answer most questions and give you step by step instructions.

Good luck.

Anything you did "years ago" you should update your knowledge as forms and processes are always changing. After reading through Hanks information I think you will have a better handle on things. If any questions come up that need clarification just ask here in the forum and one of the many knowledgeable people here can help.

uhm.. are you looking to do NVC doc intake for the Visa Application?

or chase after an expedite at NVC, bypassing the NVC Doc Intake process altogether ?

choice of path determines 'the next steps'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Nope! This is an immigrant visa, I-130, NVC will setup the interview date. The medical and CFO are the same but the process and requirements for the interview are different

Darnell...well my congressmans office got involved and within 2 weeks the expedite she did was pushed through and approved. She said she will do the NVC expedite as well, but she is on vaca until 6 Jan. I was going to call NVC this morning but I won't if it will muck it up if the congressmans aide will push for an expedite.

Hey Hank, yes I received the PM...started looking through it. Got busy with Zoie getting a cold....thanks a lot buddy. As I told a poster above, the congressmans office aide that I've been working with will do a expedite on the NVC process as well, but not until she gets back to the office next monday, so I am not sure If I should just sit tight or what? Thanks again Hank.

IMO, let the Congressman's Immigration Liason Staffer Human push the expedite at NVC, so wait a bit.

However, that doesn't stop you from calling into NVC and asking about casefile status. Be prepared for no news until The Glory Day.

When you get The Glory Day, the NVC TeleOperator will ask you for email addresses, give over the Consular Casefile #. If'n you call back the next day, you'll get the Invoice Identification Number as well.

Expedite Requests at NVC can't be acted on until the casefile is logged and ready for processing. Having the IIN (via telephone) is the best indicator for you, that the switch at NVC is turned on, the casefile logged and ready for processing.

You don't need the ILS Human at the Congressman's office to handle the expedite, you can do that yerself, but, sometimes it shaves a few days to get the ILS human involved.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

haha, ok Darnell....well let me follow up with this. Our 130 visa was expedited as per NVC. They said they sent request to Manila for processing, however they do not know how long it could take in Manila. Does anyone know if I can call the embassy and find out?
