NON-HISPANIC MAN BEING DEPORTED. America is Full of Opportunity for

all races!

BELARUSSIAN HOCKEY PLAYER MARRIED TO FORMER SOLDIER INCARCERATED

I am a native born US Citizen. I served on active duty for 6.5 years

in the Army and was honorably discharged. I have a child on Active duty

currently. This did not stop Homeland Security officials dressed in

Hockey Jerseys from apprehending my spouse Monday the 11th in the early

hours of the morning. Now MY WHITE NON-HISPANIC HUSBAND IS BEING

DEPORTED.

My husband originally came here LEGALLY on an H1b VISA to play

professional Hockey, in Sep 1998. We have been married 5 years. In answer to

the question why did you NOT leave when Uncle Sam told US to..I had a

school age child that I was supporting. Obviously I am the bread

winner. I guess you can say we are "TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM".

A simple cost benefit of analysis of this situation is a NET LOSS to

Uncle Sam. We were paying taxes on joint family earned income. We did not

have any "false" identification. My husband had a TAX ID which the IRS

is happy to give out so you can file your TAXES. I paid his medical

expenses and car insurance etc. With the exception of the VISA overstay

there was no other "illegal" activity. His punishment for this civil

offense is 10 bar to return to the US. Or I should say our families

punishment because this effects the entire family. I was threatened by the

Storm Troopers of being arrested for "harbouring a fugitive". The

government forced me to do since there was no other way to live in the country

with my spouse without "living on the lamb".

The ONLY good things in this whole fiasco is we are no longer have to

"fly under the radar". One of the most damaging aspects of this to

me personally, emotionally and spiritually has been living on the

"outside" of the law. My husband said the same thing. It is quite

inconvenient that the government has a law on the books that prevents a married

couple from co-habiting. I wish that had given us another option.

Yes his VISA overstay was "illegal" but what about a law on the books

that interferes with Gods command in regard to the marital bond between

a man and a woman not being interfered with? "What God has put together

let no man separate?" As a citizen and particularly one who has put on the uniform

and defended my country, I feel Uncle Sam should leave me alone and let

me pursue life, liberty and happiness quietly in the domain of my own

home. The law should allow husbands and wives to sleep in the same

country.

Its unfortunate thinking people are not asking why this law is so

routinely violated. Could it be that in our hearts we know that this law is

fundamentally flawed and immoral? Isn't there something wrong with a

law that cuts through the nuclear family like a knife? This law deserves

to be questioned. We should ask whether the activity criminalized

should have been illegal in the first place. Laws should be sensible,

practical moral.

I don't advocate lawlessness but there is something GRAVELY wrong with

our system if a middle-aged man can get on the internet and order

himself a bride and our Government gives him a wink and nod. But storm

troopers are running around dragging away the spouses who met the good old

fashioned way, by "chance" and just got to know each other and fell in

love and got married.

I got a call from Georgia State Senator Curt Thompson Tuesday he and

his staff apparently hid his wife from the DHS folks. I don't think

anyone there got arrested for "harbouring a fugitive" like they threatened

me. He also got a "do-over" and a Judge gave his wife a break because

apparently a notario screwed up her paperwork. This case is very similar

to ours. I don't anticipate that we will get a do-over.

I bet the $1000 or so that should have been spent to adjust status sure seems like small change at this point.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

You're right....In 5 years they couldn't find this website or one like it (like USCIS maybe). Funny how she managed to find it only 11 days after he gets picked up. It's going to be a sad Christmas for her, but '####### were you thinking' seems such an understatement.

One can adjust status from an H1B upon marriage to a US citizen.

This story is hogwash. Some significant detail is missing...

I was wondering the same thing, why did the OP not file to adjust status?

Need to know the whole story.

Getting married does not automatically generate a green card, and make some one a legal resident of the country.

Then again we may have a troll here, post does incite a lot of negative coments.

So... yeah... i find it quite ironic that DHS officials were dressed in hockey jerseys when arrested your non-hispanic husband, considering your husband is a hockey player.

I agree with you, your non hispanic husband shouldnt be deported, because, well, hes a non hispanic. This is the most racist thing i have heard all day. Congrats!

About that thing about Gods will, and not interfering with a relationship. God does not control the USA. The government does, and just because you were in the army for a few years, doesnt exempt you from following the rules and laws.

We are all here to do this LEGALLY, and sadly its because of ignorant people like you, that the process is so difficult for us.

It puts a smile on my face to know that DHS is doing their job!

Non Hispanic man deported? I guess if you are not Latin you can break the law. Sounds a bit rascist to me. Look around and see the many Latinos on this website. They are doing the right thing. Yes it can be a pain in the ### but they are taking care of business. We can't follow the law when it's only convient for us. People like this make it harder for law abiding individuals. This is why the visa and green card process is complicated now.
