I heard lots of people use K1. Yes it is almost impossible to get a tourist visa if you hold a Mayramar passport unless you come from a wealthy family.

I never heard of an IR1 or CR1. Interesting.

I plan to apply for PR in Singapore. I used to pay 45% of my salary to taxes, retirement, and health insurance. I would rather not go back to that.

Until recently I was seeking a K1 for my Burmese fiancé.

2013 11 12 Received RFE notice - Almost decided to change the venue to Thailand. Sat on the RFE for about three weeks before proceeding.2013 12 20 RFE answer package received by USCIS
2013 12 23 NOA2 received from USCIS
2014 01 14 After demonstrating the hate Americans have tward the chidfree, my fiancé has no desire to visit the USA.

Going forward, I will sell off my remaining assets in the USA. I doubt I will ever return. Americans are second only to the French when it comes to rudeness.

So, let me clarify this. K-1 is intended for the holder to immigrate to the US, marry a US Citizen and live there. My question is, what is your purpose of marrying here in the US if you don't plan on living here at all?

I don't mean to point out but its kinda pointless for you to apply if you have no intention of living here in the first place. Why don't you guys just get married in Singapore instead?

Technically the K1 visa is intended for the visa holder to marry their USC fiance in the US (no requirement of the visa holder having intent to live there), hence it is a "dual intent" visa. The letters of intent are only required to state that you agree to marry within 90 days upon arriving in the US, not that you will live there. Immigration, or applying for permanent residence, is done by adjustment of status after marriage. The added benefit of a K1 is that you can remain in the US while your green card application is being processed.

http://www.uscis.gov/family/family-us-citizens/fiancee-visa/fiancee-visas

"This page provides information for U.S. citizens wishing to bring a foreign national fiancé(e) living abroad to the United States to marry.

Once issued, the fiancé(e) visa (or K-1 nonimmigrant visa) allows your fiancé(e) to enter the United States for 90 days so that your marriage ceremony can take place. Once you marry, your spouse may apply for permanent residence and remain in the United States while USCIS processes the application."

I did some reseach on the internet. The K1 has an apporval rate of 95%. Tourist visas has an approval rate of arouond 50%.

My research said that many people exploit the K1 loophole if they are from countries were obtaining a tourst visa is nearly impossible.

Furthermore I cannot sponcer her for a tourist visa becuase I do not live in the USA. Her sister cannot becuase she lives in Canidia.

Our only hope to have a honeymoon in Califrona is the K1.

You are confused. We have no plans to move to the USA anytime soon. We plan to live in Singapore, and to retire in Mayanmar. I have no need to apply for a K3 or equivalent.

I am 47, and so is my fiancé. I have no children. My parents are gone. The USA has no long term future (it will go eventually go bankrupt). I will visit my brother from time to time. There is nothing I want there. My fiancé does not want to live there. She considers the USA too violent.

I am a PSTD US military veteran. I cannot cope with the high stress society in the USA. I am done with war and anything that reminds me of it. Asia is peaceful. There are lots of men like me who have retired in Asia to forget. If there is anything in this world I want to forget, it is Kuwait.

I believe it is PTSD, not PSTD but maybe it is called differently now.

My apologies. I was a bit confused also. I guess thats a good thing retiring in Asia. Preferably Singapore. I've been there when I was on leave, and its awesome. Although, they have a small Navy Exchange store, they still have the same prices if not cheaper there.

Happy Holidays brother, hope you enjoy your retirement! HOOAH!
