In Jamaica someone told my Finace that I can send a list of those who I want to attend my wedding here in the states ( that currently don't have a visa) ) to make it easier for them to apply for a visa to attened our wedding. I already sent him wedding invitations to use that. But I never heard of a list I can specifically send to request there presence to attend my wedding...What!! I told him I'll check with VJ family see if is true. Has anyone heard of this?

A wedding list will have no effect whatsoever on those applying for a visa to attend your wedding.

Who will you send the list to? The embassy isn't interested in your wedding plans which will have nothing to do with someone's tourist visa application.

Each of the people on the list can apply for a B 2 visa. Each of them will have different circumstances. Each of them must learn to comply with the strongest ties rule. Each must prove beyond a doubt that they MUST return.

Jamaica is a high fraud country so obtaining these tourist visas isn't going to be easy.

A wedding list is not going to affect the decisions of the IO. In actuality, there may be invited guests (those who received the invitations), who will receive the visa, and those who will not. We sent invitations as well, and two people did not get their visa until this s year in 2013, so they came to celebrate our anniversary.

I agree...invitation letters/or wedding invitations have no bearing on the recipient getting a visa on that basis. They have to be able to prove to the embassy that they have ties to Jamaica that will see them returning. If not, they would just be wasting their application fee (that is not cheap).

Sept. 17, 2014: Received NOA 2. Case APPROVED with no RFEs

Oct. 17, 2014: Case # Assigned by NVC (Same day case was received, according to Julian # calculation)

Oct. 21, 2014: Received letter from NVC

Oct. 22, 2014: DS-261 completed and submitted to NVC

Oct. 31, 2014: Paid AOS invoice


Dec 08, 2014: Sent in IV & AoS packages

Dec 11, 2014: Package received by NVC

Dec 12, 2014: Received email from NVC acknowledging receipt. I assume this is our scan date

Dec 25, 2014: Paid IV bill

Dec 29, 2014: Funds deducted from bank account. DS-260 became available, and was completed

Dec 30, 2014: Submitted DS-260

Feb. 12, 2015: Case Complete with NO checklist! whoot, whoot!

Mar. 25, 2015: Received P4. Interview

April 29,2015: Completed medical examination

May 13, 2015: Interview Date APPROVED :dancing:

May 19, 2015: Received Package

Oct. 22, 2015: Travelled to my new home :) (In order to get IR-1 Green Card) Expiration date on IR-1/CR-1 Visa - Oct. 29, 2015

Nov 10, 2015: Received Social Security Card

Jan 4, 2016: LPR Green Card arrived.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Sadly too many "guests" have appeared on such lists and as a result, no weight of a positive nature will be given to anyone on the list..remember. ..the VOs don't care why somebody wants to GO to the US; they are only interested in why the applicant will LEAVE the US (and not work there either)
