Should we get a co-sponser?

Hey all ~

My fiance has filled out the I-134 and he is earning WELL over the poverty guidelines.. however he only just started this job two weeks ago. We have gotten a letter from his employer and he will send pay stubs as soon as he gets them. I was wondering though, is it wise to have his parents co-sponser. I am only asking this because I saw a post from someone who's sponser was in the same situation, and at the interview the beneficiary had to come back another day with a co-sponser.

We lived together last year and earnt just over the guidelines with our combined income.. but only by a scratch. I have bank statements but not anything official from the bank as they are taking too long. My fiance has aso sent me last years tax forms...

Yo cannot combine you incomes like that. His income has to stand on it's own since he is sponsoring you. Past Tax data considered will be from 2005 was that high enough?

I don't think it would have been... however he IS earning enough now!?! I would just rather be safe than sorry!

The thing about the I-134 is that you can get a co sponsor for the visa, the co-sponsor is not obligated to be a co-sponsor when you adjust status.

When you do get married then you can see if his financial status is better for the I-864 affidavit of support here in the states. Some even wait some time before filing to adjust status for just that reason.

The first priority is to get the K-1 visa, and if you need a co-sponsor to do it then get a co-sponsor, like his parents, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, friend, ect.
