Hi Everyone, I am reaching out to those of us who have a loved one in Egypt, if you see this post please share it, I am new and just getting to know how to use the site, so please help me out-

My husband was phoned by the American embassy in Cairo, and has an appointment January 9 to sign the part two of the DS260 form in front of a CO and then swear the oath, we received emails in the past weeks from the embassy saying they wanted him to electronically submit the DS260 form on line, and submit all of the required documents ( new police report, medical exam, current affidavit of support, and his civil documents for his birth, our marriage, his divorce, etc.) and all of this was done and processed, the emails also said he was approved and they wanted us to complete everything so they could process it to completion....

WE do have an attorney, and she tells me she is not sure what they need to do other than give him the visa, but once he is asked to swear the oath, we are just waiting for the visa appointment, right? My husband has not been asked yet to send in his passport via DHL, we wonder if maybe they will ask him to do so at the time of the appointment on January 9.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks, so much in advance for your replies.

My husband appointment was March 2013 and at his appointment the Consular had him swear under oath, fingerprinted him, had him sign part II of DS-230. They collected his passport and DHL fees just before the interview... about 30 minutes later he was called into the interview room.

He was asked questions about our relationship (how we met, my parents name, how many times I traveled to Egypt, etc.). The Consular collected his I-864 and original documents and he was placed on AP.....9 months later we received a call stating my hubby needed to renew passport, medical and online DS-260.

The Embassy mailed back passport through DHL with letter stating what he needed to send back to complete his case. We have all the requested forms completed now and my husband plans to mail back package today through DHL.

Once the Consular completes the necessary paperwork the passport will be mailed back with visa stamp.
