LOL ok then when you say "1-2 months" you didn't really say months. Ok.

Please explain to us why it takes so long to transfer the case. Also tell us why NVC cant or wont give people a case number for so long.

The USCIS officer that explained this to my husband must have been wrong.

Just clear this up for us so we can move on.

It takes them long to transfer the case mostly because they send them in bulks ( I know it sucks. I had to wait long for uscis to send my petition to nvc too). Unfortunately they have the safety blanket of "wait 8 weeks then call us again" which is really annoying. But keep calling them anyways. As soon as NVC gets your petition, you are given a case number within 1-2 days and then they send it out fast unless you go into AP.

My approved I-129f form took over two months to be sent. It was approved October 18th and wasn't declared shipped until December 16. Our documents were sitting at the Texas Service Center for 2 whole months before it was even thought about being shipped. So I was calling the National Visa Center for no GD reason....smh.

Hopefully we will get a case number sooner rather than later.

Just venting,

A

After 6 weeks of receiving your approve petition letter NVC should send you a letter with stating they have now forward you petition to the following consulate with your case #

Ok, so MOST of the time, and I say MOST of the time because I have heard of a few exceptions- this message means that your case was approved but has not yet left USCIS.... once the message says something like On (month) XX, (year), we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly. Then you know it is on its way to NVC and then you give it two weeks and start calling.... good luck and keep an eye on the USCIS website... As my friend celebs mentioned above, lots of people from California are getting approved fast but their petitions are taking around 1-2 months to be sent to NVC.... keep us posted...

I agree that when your I129 is approved you will get a message like you did and it will stay that way for about a month then it will change to "WE SHIPPED IT TO DEPT OF STATE FOR VISA PROCESSING" like the previous person wrote. Then after that I keep reading that it takes 2 weeks to get a case number. I called the NVC its a (606) area code I believe and a recording comes on saying they are not giving this information out. I know strange. I am thinking cause sooooo many people call.

I would say your status will stay the way it is for about a month I am working with the Texas lockbox though.

They are not concerned about my feelings, but yeah I am completely miserable over here without my fiancée. I haven't physically seen him since Oct 2012' I thought he could get a visa to come back on his own, but it is very hard so that's why in August 2013 I applied for the K1 Visa. I wish they would hurry.

This process is about compliance with the immigration laws which have nothing to do with emotions.

If the process seems slow to you its because it is. There is nothing fast about the business of visas. You probably know that there are about 2.5 million cases presented to USCIS every year. Here at VJ we see only a tiny percentage of those cases.
