Stop and think about the whole thing. This is somebody's suggested format. Yours doesn't have to be an exact copy, but yes the red indicates where you can put your info. I personally don't think it is proper business format and mine looked different. ( A business letter doesn't have a title COVER LETTER, for example and I wouldn't put petitioners name at the top before her return address.) But I also know they will process an application without a cover letter at all. I have done no cover letter in subsequent immigration applications and we got approved just the same. They really don't care how it is formatted and it likely gets thrown out in the mail room, so don't sweat it.

So think about what you are sending and make sure you list what is in your packet. Like are you proving your fiance's citizenship with a birth certificate? Then take out the word passport.

Some people like to be more specific like

-Proof of having met in person June 2012, December 2012, May 2013, and December 2013.

-or-

- G-325A and passport style photo (Paul Marshall)

- G-325A and passport style photo (Mary Smith)

For sure take out anything the would print red. And fix that line that is huge type to match the rest of the letter.

Also at the bottom, skip four lines after "Signed," to leave room for her signature. Type her name...this sounds like she is going to print it with a pen. [print name]

Are you going to print this out on A4 paper or let your fiancé print it on American sized paper since it is from her?

And like I said, it isn't going to influence your petition however you do it. Just make it your own by reviewing what it says carefully when done. Why isn't your fiancé participating in this process?

Hi

My fiancee has a broken laptop so no access to files so I am liasing with her and filling all I can until I arrive on 26th so she can finish that package.

I'm taking all files over on a USB stick so all will be printed on US sized paper.

Thanks again nick
